I’m glad they also include the NIMH battery. I’m probably in the minority of people not using lipo batteries but I had a couple lipo batteries catch fire 🔥 on me and one swelled up so I run strictly with NIMH batteries now. The Lipos scare me

What are you doing with you LiPos, dude? I am doing FPV quadcopter racing and we fly softpack-LiPos around at over 60mph and crash a lot and in the two years I have never seen a LiPo explode on me. 🤔

Your not the only one bud I had a Lipo burn my rc10t4 to the ground . I swore off Lipo ever since . I just run 7 cell nimh instead

Lipos are safe if you know how to maintain them and properly care for them

Did you talk about the locking diffs?

I hope they come out with a after market battery strap for all those out there like me that only have hard lipo packs.

How do you reset the esc? Forward doesn't work anymore. Only reverse. Motors are ok in both directions. Esc is just flashing when throttling. Pls help. Thanks

funny how everyone is complaining about the small shit. its not like we're going to keep it stock. everyones going to be upgrading and doing different shit to it once you get it just like any other crawler. i think this will be a great competition to the 10.2 and trx 4. its simple and has forward mounted motor. battery position and plastic links will be moved and upgraded. just like every other rig.

+Outdoor Life i just finished doing one on my ECX barrage. As of right now i dont really have a big project in the works. Just more or less gonna show a few different parts on a bunch of vehicles this winter.

Wouldn't happen to have a TRX-4 to do performance comparisons do you? This would have been my first rig but the TRX-4 caught my attention at my LHS and had a sooner release drop, I ended up getting it. I love it but it's complexity loses to simplicity IMO. Might have to have two rigs now.

Why this crawler is not available anywhere anymore?

I was wondering if you will be getting the Redcat Everest Pro Gen 7 and doing a review on it. I’ve heard good things about it

I have gen7 PRO they're both great for price for RTR. The great thing is I was able to switch out my axles out for aluminum SCX10.2 axles because the Redcat pumpkins hang up pretty good and I added 120m 1.9 Mickey Thompson TTC'S for extra clearance other than the hang up on the front end and the unlicensed body the Redcat Rock's!!! But I will have this one also I'm a huge HPI FAN.

kit has metal links, rtr plastics afaik. maybe its also to do with these being pre production stuff. early TRX-4 also had plastic gears in the trans while the proper production stuff had sintered metal ones.

looks good but i don't like the battery position.

+humble rc i agree. Hopefully someone will come up with a better setup for it.

The scale version is nothing like the full size mainly in that the real rig is IFS. Scale version is more like the 80 series cruiser, which is the best off the shelf 4x4 in the world.

So for the near $400 price tag we'll get nearly waterproof electronics and ooooo a esc that has a special crawler edition? Great that they also include bumpers. I'm not ripping on your video, I'm ripping on HPI. They waited so long to release this truck and I still don't see anything so unique and special about it that justifies the near $400 price tag. For a basic crawler out of the box that Redcat looks like it's the better buy - even the cheap version. This is not the HPI that we grew up with, and I doubt it ever will be again. I will give the vid a like though, great job on it.

I love the look of this truck, just nice and simple. The lower profile transmission and forward motor would make installing a full interior much easier. Its got so much potential,well done HPI.....

The fj cruiser is a new version of a 40 sieries land cruiser

It seems to be a decent crawler but I don’t know if I can trust the HPi brand anymore

Over priced at $399... Before spending $399 for the FJ... I would buy the Redcat Everest Gen7 Pro at $279...... 8^)

I used my sister ipad

Negative Points: 1. Seems no CVD on front axles. Using regular dogbone-drivecup combo which is weaker and way limited steering angles. 2. Super Weak Steering servo for a scale truck of 2017, must be at least 6kg-9kg of torque. 3. Besides the limited battery size that will fit, Battery position is so noob. Everyone will want to move it upfront or middle position for best performance. 4. Body have no internal or external bracing. the $270 Redcat Everest Gen7 have a better more durable body design, albeit uglier looking. :D 5. Cheap Plastic links which is very flexy and soft. They could have used some regular metal or chrome steering links even thin ones and it will still be stiffer and durable than those cheap plastic links. Also using a 3 link setup instead of a true 4 link setup.

All is pretty but it's f... electric. Even prius has engine...
