Why would HP sell this at Walmart?

I'm using a 64GB Stream to type this. My solution has been 1) Install Manjaro to replace bloated Windows. 2) Add another 4 GB of RAM for a total of 8GB. 3) Buy a 256 GB SD card and set up symbolic links to it from my "Home" folder. Has worked great for the past 18 months.

I have a 500gb hard drive from my old system. Can i format it and use it on my new hp stream?

I like using a 250gb flssh drive or an external usb hard drive then install windows on it or which ever i choose to install on them same goes for linux i have 3 external hard drives i dont have issues with either one of them tbh like he said there are options to use an how big of hdd yiu want to use

i cant even update my laptop because the reserved storage is using up all the space in the 32 c drive i only have 1.22 gb available an i need 8 gb and i dont know what to do ive bought a 116 gb flash drive but i still cant download the update via flash drive so im lost i cant extend my c drive either im lost for answers ie scourerd the internet for anwers but still nothing

I'll be honest the best thing to do is to back up only the files you need either on a usb drive or in the cloud. And do a clean install, i ran into the same issue where the storage was so full i couldnt even do a factory reset. I just had windows 10 install usb drive delete all partitions and do a fresh install, once you have a clean install of windows on the computer insert the drive you are gonna use to extend the storage then use the steps in the video. i hope this helps

Im saying have an operating system to go either have it on a flash or external hdd which ever windows or linux you want to use if that makes since

They really are shit 😂 mine has no storage on it even though i only installed 1 thing

I try to use an external hard drive and it won't let me update it to format it and it wont let me powerwash for the same reason it doesn't have enough space I've been trying everything and it's very frustrating. Might just have to try the SD card.

By the way I did something similar and downloaded windows 10 because it told me to and it used up all my memory now I can't even find the file.

I did the same thing Ive gotten alot futher since I posted this comment. You shouldn't have to download it its an option. people will give you the weirdest ways just go to the bottom corner type reset this pc, advanced set up it'll give you alot more options like use windows 10 and the clean all files and wipe machine. You need 10 GB to wipe it or clean it and it takes more then 22 GB to run the machine. I got a little 32 GB thumb disk and it already took 4 GB just for it to run on the machine just like the computer. You can go to disk cleanup in the search bar at the bottom left to keep on top of it but you can't delete everything I've found it and deleted all the files it just made it worse.

Ik I’m kinda late on this but I have a purple hp stream and it messed up 🥲 It’s like when ever u do anything on it crashes on me it’s like the whole Microsoft software is to much for the laptop 😑

I got the same thing i clean this everytime n it be like “not enough storage “ when it needs to update T-T i rested it n all like it gets full everytime like wtf

ANYONE WITH THIS LAPTOP: 1. Disable 'reserved storage' (frees up ~7GB of space) -open elevated command prompt (administrator command/powershell) -type: DISM /Online /Get-ReservedStorageState to check state. -type: DISM /Online /Set-ReservedStorageState /State:Disabled to disable. (to re-anable, use this command with 'Enabled' at the end instead)

I can't even factory reset mine no matter how hard I try its so funny it says I need at least 5 gigs of space which is impossible almost this computer is almost as bad as Chrome book it definitely takes second place Update: I know I don't have to update this. But I have now thrown that junk in the closet. Toss that thing goodbye and get anything else my God just get anything besides that pos. I got a Lenovo 500gb for Christmas and I love the performance. Please people don't buy this thing. That laptop is garbage I can't believe they even make these

Type services, run as administrator, go down to windows update, select and right click, select properties, change startup type to disabled
