How to upgrade the HDD and memory in the HP Pavilion 15-n290sa and other HP Pavilion 15 laptops based around this chassis, allowing you to upgrade to an SSD and dual channel memory configurations, or to replace a faulty HDD.
The disassembly process is extremely simple and can be done with a plastic pry tool and small screwdriver in a few minutes.

Excellent video - thanks! What a terrible design of laptop though - pretty much a full strip for a HDD upgrade? Nuts!
Glad you put this up. Got a laptop very similar to this from Wal-Mart and was getting worried that there would be no videos on how to extract this HDD.
Without a doubt, the worst laptop I've ever had the displeasure of replacing a drive on. Just provide an access panel! An unbelievably tedious job to replace what should be a user serviceable part...
Excellent and extremely helpful video - I watched it twice then kept it paused whilst carrying out the disk change - it all went perfectly first time - top notch Brue Computing - thanks very much
Thank You! Without this splendid video I could not have done this job.
Thankyou for this great how to video. I had to change the charging port inside my laptop a d this helped me with the dismantle process so i could access that area.

Excellent video. Worked perfectly. Just a note for others. My laptop had two additional small ribbon cables on the top side. Have to be careful not to damage them when removing the top section of the laptop case.
Could not have done the job without this video - I have to say this is the most difficult laptop I have ever had to work on for a simple harddrive exchange - the equivalent of taking the engine out of a car to change a headlamp bulb - HP should be ashamed...
You are the greatest! Very clear explanation. We upgraded our laptop for another 8 years for EUR 39,- :)
thank you sir you saved my computer and my pockets
Made my day much easier, thankyou
Great video. Easy to follow and my upgrade went very well!
Excellent explanation to remove the hard disk from inside the laptop.
Thanks, great video, just the detail I needed!
Thank you very much for this video! It helped me immensely. Liked and subscribed.
Great video, thanks ! Worked on a HP Pavilion 15-n223sf
I found releasing the keyboard connector a bit confusing and found by looking at another video that you lift the black bit not the white bit. Other than that it was a great video. Thanks
Thanks for this! It let me open up my NA-032SA which was identical except a minor change in the keyboard attachment.
Whoever designed this laptop needs a smack in the face. Great vid
