Okay I tried again!!!!! This printer I have been trying to get it to work. I set it up and it print fine. The next day nothing. It was offline and not connected to the network my computer said otherwise! Almost 2 days of wasted paper with reports it is endless. Thank you I went back and watched your video. I have called Hp for the past 2 days and nothing! But thank you I went back to your video and saw something I have never been told or seen of all of the pins and reports. I went to HP Smart went to the plus sign waited and a MIRACLE! I HAVE FINALLY STOPPED THE FLASHING WIFI LIGHT. i AM ALL SET AFTER ADDING MY PRINTER ABD PASSWORD. SO SIMPLE BUT HP DID NOT TELL ME THAT. THANK YOU

I had already set up my printer . My Wi-Fi isn’t set up. How can I do this if my printer is already set up ?

So far I followed you, but how do you get to the page you have on your screen i.e. Get Supplies, Scan, Smart Tasks, Printables...? Did not ask me for Name and Password, but it shows my printer DeskJt4100, but when I go to add a printer, it shows many of them, but not HP DeskJet, it shows 5100 D4100 and F4100 but not 4100.. wth I tried 2 times.

It should be same. You can try adding D or F4100 and see if that works.

my printer is still not working! its so stubborn

I did everything you did but its not recognizing my printer. Why is that?

my printer has done NOTHING like this. I have power, I have paper. it printed nothing. it came with three small pieces of paper, the largest being a sales push for ink. There is a quarter sheet that says to download the app, and a tiny 2pt type paper that seems to give no useful information of any kind, at least, I guess not, since its such tiny type. I find it astonishing that HP can't afford to hire even one single tech writer. The printer I bought was an amazon return. hmmm. Lets see if I can guess why.

I did go through the steps but everytime I try to connect the printer to the wi-fi it keeps giving me error code -5. How do I stop this from happening?

I use up smart on my phone. I go into set up mode on my printer but can’t find my WiFi network on hp smart. Help me pls.

update!! So appearantly the mobile app will not work at all. So i just used my windows 10 pc and it got set up instantly!

For some reason I'm stuck at 90% dl for the app...

Try moving printer near the router and setup again.

It needs strong signal so move printer near router or better signal area.

Hp is ripping people off, u can't use this unless u subscribe to their instant ink....my printer was brand new n different errors kept causing it not to work couldn't return it to store.figured out the ink carriage was broke
