How is it holding up i am thinking of getting the 13th gen cpu version

The model I got of this particular laptop, with an R5 5500u actually has a backlit keyboard.

I have tried this laptop and it is decent if you are new to laptops. I have a Dell XPS (17 inch). I prefer the Dell for reasons of keyboard feeling, guess I am spoiled. I have upgraded to Win 10, increased RAM from 6GB to 16GB and change HDD to SSD (much faster on boot-up). One thing I did find it that the HP does not work too well with Discord Voice Chat (which I use daily). Hope my Dell lasts till 10/2025. I have also tried another Laptop and returned that laptop as well. Now there are mini-computers to be used with a keyboard and monitor,,,,,,, As a back-up, I do have a 13 inch RCA laptop (with a removable keyboard) and a Fire HD Tablet. I have the Ryzen 7 version. Despite the display equals that of my Nitro 5, I like typing on it; typing is subjective so try to see if you have similar experience as mine. The keyboard layout is nice and good. It had more or less similar layout as my DELL INSPIRON 17R way back so the layout is easy to adapt. The problem with other brands with numpads is that they're missing HOME or END keys. This laptop got what I want - home, insert, end, delete, page up, and page down keys. I upgraded mine to 24 GB (8 GB + 16;don't care about dual channel feature at the moment since it runs fast) and offers good performance when it comes to programming tasks (mine is MS VS 2022 Community Edition + MS SQL Server 2019 Developer Edition). The audio is loud and good as well. Not for gaming but for office and personal use. Lastly, you have a free MS Office 2021 Home and Student Edition. This indicates this laptop was designed for students and programming enthusiasts.

I have the same PC it’s not the best PC but it’s reliable and truthfully it’s the first HP I’ve ever owned laptop. I’ve had worser laptops I have to say this is the best one I’ve had in my life fast searching the web is really fast on it. It’s a good computer.

the preformace section of this video was quite helpful, but i do have some questions; i’m thinking about getting this laptop, i go to an online academy, and i want to use it for light gaming such as minecraft and roblox. ( if you can, please game test them! i’d like to know if they run on good fps. ) i also do some coding, so would you recommend it? or should i look elsewhere.

@@myakyumini4782 yeah, although i do recommend you get the AMD version because i'm pretty sure it has better performance than the intel version. mine with an amd ryzen 5625U can run minecraft at about 65-100 fps, which is pretty good i guess, and it's performance is good for roblox, can run games REALLY well at 5 graphics, 9 is playable but is definitely laggier and 10 might not be the best graphics to use on this laptop

What year laptop are you talkin about here and also you said there was something above the keyboard something called a power butter. What is the purpose of that function?

what's with the cheap keyboards these days? Thanks for the warning I was just about to click "buy" but my gut said, "search for a review" and yours was the 1st hit and you immediately hit the sore point for me - the keys are so important but the manufacturers agoing cheap on the #1 interface item!

hello i just bought the laptop but the fan is very loud and sometimes turn on for 10-15 min even when i'm on sleep mode. Also it seem to work way to hard for basic stuff like internet browsing. This is very shocking for a i7 next gen. It it just me ?

I have a variant of this laptop and i found that if you go into the settings and find the computers performance modes and it was set to balanced. I simply changed it to efficient and it runs without a sound. Hope this helps

can you attach a hub to this laptop? So you can use usb sticks and a mouse and some bluetooth stuff?

That's a valid point. It's dirt cheap to put a hard tpu cut out above the screen so they use that tactic to save some pennies.

Thick bezels = Better camera. I have a 2000 dollar Dell XPS with very thin bezels and the camera is trash.

The Pavilion competes one level above the base HP laptop line in all fairness. With that said the HP laptop series provides similar specs are at lower price at the expense of build quality and IO port standards. I recently made a full review on the 2022 Pavilion as well, feel free to check that out!

IdeaPad series are yet better in overall assessment

Pavilion is considered a mainstream mid range laptop. Where as this is entry level mid range. The Pavilion has a more premium build and offers additional configurations. Beyond that they share many aspects.

Yes, i bought this laptop about 2 Months ago, my specs are i5 1235U, 512GB SSD, 8GB Ram & Windows 11. Got it for €509,99 (it was discounted, original price €809,99) i got it on black friday, i have a high end desktop pc so i only needed a laptop for typing notes etc since i like having a physical keyboard rather than an iPad. It performs pretty well, GTA V ONLINE runs on 25+ FPS on 1080p default graphics. Roblox runs depending on the game but on 5/10 Graphics runs on 50-60FPS. No backlight doesn't matter for me since when im home i use my gaming desktop pc, the keyboard feels very cheap, it's not as durable as i thought, it gets loud (fans) time to time, can run 4K Videos on youtube at 60FPS, i don't recommend it for gaming but for daily use such as reading emails, youtube, browsing etc. It's perfect, cheap and useful, i don't recommend it buying it for €809,99 tho, i got it for €509,99 and for this price it's insanely worth it, it's not worth it if you buy it for more than €650.

The HDMI port is v1.4, most other laptop in this range now offver HIDM 2.1. The USB-C port does not have TB4 support.

Ohhh just saw it. I though hp are going to follow apple trend.

The laptiop overall is good. But the keyboard is RUBBISH!!! The Fonts are too thin on the silver colored keys. And it is almost invisible. If there are no backlight, they should have thicker fonts. This design seems to be borrowed from the lighted keycap versions.
