I’m seeing a lot of comments about the dead audience, and I just wanted to say as a performer myself, it’s one of the highest compliments if during a song the audience is quiet. 90 percent of the time it’s because they’re attentive to the music, and Hozier’s is so gorgeous that the audience is dead silent.

As a music fan who during shows stays mostly quiet and still in absolute awe, thank you. There's no right or wrong way to experience live music. If you saw me at a concert you'd think I'm bored out of my mind but I'm actually having the time of my life.

I don't make much noise during concerts either, besides humming or singing the songs to myself. I'm not a screaming type, but I'm still enjoying it. I definitely wouldn't be making noise during a Hozier concert, that just seems disrespectful to his music

It's lovely to know that Hozier is just as obsessed with Ben Howard as I am. Breathtaking performances from two amazing artists.

Man, 8 years after this concert was live finally came around to watch it. Lovin Hozier. Great concert!

As I've seen comments about the audience being so quiet: it's a radio festival, the audience is usually encouraged to be quieter as they're recording the performances. Also, there is no right or wrong way to experience or enjoy music. I think of it as a great compliment to Hozier that the audience is quiet and taking the time to really listen to his lyrics and the music.

I need a version of this for wasteland, baby!!

What I love about hozier is he thinks Amerie is *CLASSIC* and he actually covers music what his "fans" would call trash music like destiny's child or ariana grande. The genre of music that he plays came from poor black people, and people back then thought their music was trash too. But now that white rich people has taken over the blues and jazz it's suddenly superior and mainstream pop is for people with no music taste. I'm sooooo glad he's not a snob.

He flawlessly executes all of his songs save for Take me to Church, and that's BC the label prob got a hold of it and OVER produced it to hell and back when the song was perfect without all the extra non sense. Idk if he writes it all himself. But just writing one of these classics would assign him legend status and you can retire on one or two of these ultra popular songs. As big as he is I don't think professional musicians like myself really ever got a good look at his real catalogue directly because they OVER PRODUCED the fuxk out of take me to church, IMO, to market it to a rap/r&b demographic.. And so when I mention to my musician buddies, have u discovered hozier? They say wtf r u serious? Small death codeine scene, Cherry wine, Someone new, IT WILL COME BACK**, and literally 12 other songs I absolutely love but can't remember the names for, These are so good he could have used filler and made a 15 yr career out of them. They're excellent. But I'm not sure he writes them, maybe he does I don't know. I know he went to a music school, got inducted into the Trinity orchestra, and quit when given the opportunity to play in the States and roll with any musicians dreams. So he quit a effing dream to live a different dream. He can write his own ticket just BC of the voice. He's no special guitarist save for being super clean which is a rite in itself. So from a pro musicians point of view, I wish he were my front man. I gotta take singing lessons so I can be a one man band. To me he's got this Cream sound with the reverb and stuff Fuckin love it
