I once litsened to that song on repeat for hours in a bus ride ..I get motion sickness on long rides and once I put on that song it put me in a trans n I stayed in it for hours til I got out of the car .didn't think about my nausea once

Hozier is a male siren from greek mythology and you cannot tell me otherwise.

Oooooo this is beautiful. I like how timeless this version feels. The original had a lot of specific mentions of hardships and atrocities (flooding, a wall built between people, people being turned away in their boats, starving at borders, troops dying, etc.) and felt like an extention of modern troubles into a post-apocalyptic scene. This version has less overt anger at the current state of things, but still carries the tone of loving someone through hard times. "True to the time and the place you've been given / your heart in the world, and a world there within" is a GORGEOUS line.

Playing hoziers music has been my retreat since I was in a mental hospital learning guitar at 16, today's my 22nd birthday, and somehow I've never felt more lost, but finding this new hozier song feels very special to me, I feel like I'll pull alot of strength from this beautiful song this year.

This is the prettiest thing i have ever heard in my entire life.

I think what I like the most about Hozier's music is that each song is an experience. It's not just about the lyrics, albeit they are poetic and beautiful. There is so much thought behind the sound and the effects to this version of the song. This song sounds like a dreamy prayer that love is being placed in the right person. Not religious, but hopeful. Such a stunning song.

Now that I just listened to this I understand why Andrew loves it so much and why the album version never truly entered my heart despite loving the lyrics. This is the perfect match for the delicacy of the words and truly lets them show...

Sometimes I think the world does not deserve his voice and poetry, and other times I think that he was put here to heal it. Either way, deserving or not, I am glad he is here. The world is better for it
