Thank you so much for this, I'd been staring at the (horrible) instructions and couldn't work out what those pictures where asking me to do. This is a life saver!

Just picked this up in the prime day sales for £27. Soon as I saw the instructions I knew it was straight to youtube. This was the first clip I found, and 15-20 mins later I'm all done. It's now ready to attach to the wall, very clear and simple to follow guide so much appreciated! Thanks also to the comments which highlighted the correct position of the red connector - I knew reading the comments before starting would be handy.

You saved me about an hour's work mate.... couldn't make head nor tail out of instruction's.... Watched your video and did it in 10 mins.... Thank you 👍

Great clear video, very helpful until the last two minutes. Hozelock recommend that you fill the hose with water before you wind it onto the reel, and that makes sense so it is nice and firm to the end. Many thanks

SUPERB Video!! I need a handyman like you, Geek!! xx. Pity it does not come with a SNUG, slip-on cover, to protect it from dirt/gunk blowing onto and into it. I'd take this down and store it in the garage over really cold winters, to prevent any water freezing inside the pipe (pretty obvious it would be sensible to do this).

I've only gone and done it😍 first we girls win footie and now we putting hosepipe together 🤣🤣 couldn't have done it without this video.x

Yeah, I did send the company the video if they wanted to share to help buyers, I had no response.

Trying to put ours together now, but it's incredibly hard to wind the hose back in.

Brilliant thanks. Didn't know it would come in bits. I'm off to buy one now.

Great explanation esp. the bit about the reversible handle! The way you located the brackets when fitting was also very helpful. One small correction: the red stop valve is connected to the hose reel end, not the tap end: this allows the short hose to be disconnected when the tap is on.

Just about the most useful video I've ever come across on KZread. Slowly and methodically going through the whole process, not taking prior knowledge for granted but at the same time, not talking down to those of us who are self-confessed idiots. When I first looked at this hose and the instructions, it made not a bit of sense. But this video made it easy. Well done and a big thank you.

Excellent video. I bough the same unit a few months ago and today decided to install it. I followed your video and the included instructions to the letter and I finally had the unit on the wall ready for use. Everything seemed fine until I began to use the handle to retract the hose. The unit suddenly came off the bottom bracket. Tried again and the unit came off the bottom bracket again. I scratched and scratched my head going over every step of the installation repeatedly. I reason that there must be something wrong with the bracket or the bracket recess on the unit itself. It was the recess .... a large slug made its way into the recess and lodged itself deep into one corner preventing the bracket from sitting properly. Once out, the unit fuctioned correctly.

Excellent guide. Life-saver!

Excellent video. Gets a big 10/10 from me. Definitely the red end connector should be on the end of the hose to which the spray gun etc is attached to. It allows you to unplug the attachment without turning the water off.

Thank you so much Geek street. We are growing a new lawn which requires a constant water feed. I had to use a water can, going to the kitchen atleast 4-5 times to do the garden. We have a tap in the garden that was disconnected years ago, but now reconnected. The good thing about it, the previous owner at least connected the the tap attachement so it was ready to go. I orginally brought a hose few years ago from ebay, never used it and the first time I used it 2 days ago, the hose disconnected so it was very cheap. I was looking on Argos and decided to go with this verson as it was wall mountable or you can use it normally. The instructions were very confusing but followed your video, except for the wall mounting, also putting the red attachment to the head instead and I did cut some hose of as I didn't have any but it works great the product, really impressed with it. Big thank you with this excellent guide. Hozlelock should put this video on thier website as thier instructions are crap. Big thumbs up and thanks again.

According to some reviews, “the design is faulty as two joins in the casing stop the guide from sliding along.” This isn’t the only bad review. Other reviews say it’s difficult to wind. So not buying it after all. I’m considering the sealey’s heavy duty retractable one. Looks solid like something you’d expect in a professional environment.

In this video the aqua lock connector (red) was incorrectly fitted to the tap feed hose, do NOT do this, it should be fitted to the free end of the main hose to allow the easy (and dry) disconnecting and reconnecting of your attachments such as spray guns, pressure sprayers, etc..

@@loug2267 If you have one of the red connectors, I think you're supposed to use that at the end of the hose that you hold where the spray attachment is. That allows you to turn the tap on, go to the end of your garden, and change the spray attachment without soaking yourself. Otherwise, you can only change the spray attachment with the tap turned off.

Nice to see what a complete kit looks like - mine was missing one of the bags and the instructions. Advice: make sure that the hole underneath the reel is covered as appears in this useful clip - if it's missing, it's likely that some of the parts are too. Most likely robbed by selfish customers wanting spares.
