    Love these vids. I ordered my first bow a month ago. Since I’m new to the sport I went with a Hoyt Powermax. I gotta say you guys were one of the reasons I decided to get into this hobby. I’ve never shot a compound and haven’t shot any bow since high school. But watching these vids and hearing Casey talk about archery in the old vid of him taking Brailee to get her bow set up it sparked my interest. Then hearing Rogan talk about how meditative it can be I had to give it a go. Hoyt has to make my bow because I wanted it in black. Might be another month before I get it because of COVID and them being backed up but it’ll be worth it. I can’t wait to get to the range!

    There were times that I was tempted to buy a compound bow, and every time I step back from the ledge. I own every type of bows from Modern olympics to modern hunting recurved , traditional recurve, few modern longbows, custom recurves, and traditional asiatic bows. Watching these technical setup just makes my head spin. The thoughts having to tune the bow every hundred shots just give me headache. The compounds guys at my club carry tool bags with them and fiddle with it every couple shooting sessions. Great ways to fall out of love with archery.

    These videos are great. I couldn't use the 3/16th either and had to go to the 1/4. Crazy that just a tiny difference will make. I really want to switch to a slider, but $ is running low. My shoulders aren't happy either. Got a slight tear in my right rotator cuff that I've been compensating for and both my shoulders, neck and back are paying for it.

    I’m shooting the RX4 ultra 31”DL and at 72lbs with a 496 grain and mine is also shooting 279 FPS with it loaded out. It’s a beast, I sink arrows as deep as the arrow markings at 90yds all while holding a really tight group. I shot the VXR and didn’t like the spongey back wall and it was only a hair faster bare bow and not near as quiet. Not sure what it would have shot fully loaded out. Let’s go drop some bulls!

    I have an RX4 with Integrate rest. The rest timing was set up perfectly, but after several hundred arrows I started to get some intermittent fletching contact. I initially thought the rest was faulty and after some troubleshooting and some internet research, I can only assume the timing cord stretched slightly as it bedded in, as tightening it by 4mm (1/16) has solved the problem. The timing on a fast bow like this is absolutely critical.

  • @jakemauldin

    @jakemauldin

    4 жыл бұрын

    Brah....the position of your elbow as you draw is high....that's the exact position a therapist will use to check for shoulder impingement . Either lower draw weight or figure another way to get that string back. You have proper draw technique but this isn't possible with shoulder problems. You might want to try learning to draw elbow down then get into your normal shooting position.
