I have always shot the Easton Axis 5mm 340 spine like Brian, I was suggested to look at the Axis Pro 300 spine so I have a dozen on the way to try out. It would be cool to get the Easton guys to go over their different arrows and the pro's/con's of each.

Best arrow I found Xx75 2315 gamegetter aluminums heavy right helical 4 inch true flight white feathers 125 grain magnus stinger head. With a modern bow 60# to 70# pound draw and a drop away rest gives whole new life to these old school shafts. Feathers lighten the rear end of the arrow and the 125 grain head creates a front foc, You can pay 6 bucks for a fletched solid vane or fletch yourself for with feathers for 8 bucks an arrow! Hands down a proven Elk hammer time!!

Hey, been watching you guys for a while. Love the content. I have never hunted before, but I am obsessed with the idea of starting. I just watch videos all the time and cant stop thinking about getting into it. What recommendations would you give to someone who absolutely is obsessed, but doesn't now how to start. I don't know a soul in person that hunts and I feel like its something that you need to be shown around a bit to start. Any ideas would help. I live in Utah. Thanks anyone who replies! Stay safe!

Do you have all of the equipment (bow and arrows/broadheads and weather appropriate clothing)? You don't need a new bow, and you don't need camo. Sure they help, but start with what you have or can get for cheap. Make sure your bow, broadheads, and yourself are accurate and lethal. Those are the first steps. Hunting can be super intimidating but you'll find most hardcore hunters don't really know what they are doing. I don't know where you are at, but personally i would suggest investing the 20 bucks into OnX. That will show you where there are lands open to public hunting. Also go to your state's DNR page and memorize the rules and laws. Some states require some training on hunter education and ethics. Once you have all of the material items in place like gear and licenses, you are ready to go to the woods. Don't worry about "hunting" at first so much as walking through the woods and learning. Watch a ton of videos and learn how to spot sign, how to be quiet, how to decide where a good place is, how to know when and when not to take a shot. You'll make lots and lots of mistakes. Its part of the sport. Learn what to do with an animal once you harvest it, or if you fail to make a clean kill, how to best respect the life of that animal by making sure it has time to die, or finishing it off quickly. As a hunter, there is nothing more shameful than wasting an animal that either should not have been shot, or could have been recovered. Most of all, know how to be safe and ethical. Be a good role model to others, who like yourself, may not know how to start, or do not partake in the sport they may have preconceived notions about.

I saw bowmar make a car hood passing 900gr arrow bow setup for Cape buffalo I think it be interesting if you guys could make the same set up but double his speed and his shot distance an accuracy and distance challenge would be sniper quality accuracy out of that setup and bow , base bow should have a IBO speed 362-380 and from there work it up and 65% let off

When it comes to weight in my arrows should I up my broad head or my arrow. Last year I shot the Easton FMJ at 29” with 100 G broadhead. I shot a spike last year at 76.7 yards downhill into some pines and I pinned wheeled him but he ran for so long. I passed through him and all that. So if there is any answers to this I’ll take what ever I can get

Some suggested the 340's would be under spined for having the 25g impact collars + the 150gr field points/broadheads but we've not found that to be true. So far for my set up the heavier arrows have been shooting really great. From the backyard targets, to a recent Texas Axis deer hunt to the TAC in Utah he's been shooting really great out to 95 yards.
