As I have watched and reviewed many of your old reviews I find interesting and spot on in my own comparison. I have noticed a few questions from comments as to cutting, draw, strength, storage, which is best and so on all very good questions. I as a cigar smoker for 52 years now 72 years old know my own tastes which may differ in size , strength, shape aged or not Cuban vs New World cigars and just would like to pass on a few thoughts that may be considered. First I really enjoy your reviews great job you have a definite future in the cigar world. My thoughts first when it comes to draw it will depend on the cut if a cigar is loose draw and packed a punch cut works really well to intensify the smoke a place more resistance on the cigar because of the small hole versus a full cut. Certain cigars especially those with a single cap are very well served by the use of a punch or just the smallest cut to pinch off small area in the center as a fallout on a single car will end up badly sometimes if care not taken. Even on 3 cap cigars I will alternate between a punch cut or regular cut on certain cigars. Storage --I live in a very humid warm climate in Asia and to best keep my collection of extensive Cuban and New World cigars I keep in a air condition room where humidity is about 60 percent and 22 degrees celsius and Place all my cigars in Boveda bags with boveda 69 percent packs and then put in my humidor or leave out as the Boveda bags and packs are much more reliable then keeping in a humidor as they are consistent in humidity I have years of trying different humidors in a my climate area and found this to be best method as I often travel in winter to cold areas and it works just as well. Cuban vs New world I keep constant collection of Cuban and certain New World cigars. I order from Switzerland for Cubans and USA for New World cigars. I prefer Cuban as there is a certain earth taste along with other flavor that just are not found in my opinion in New World Cigars. As to size it really depends on my mood and to what I am wanting at a certain moment. Some of my content go to cigars are Padron for it pure consistancy in construction and strength favorite are the 80 anniversary , # 35 small but powerful , # 9, family reserve 50th., Exclusivo, and Hermoso all above in maduro. Davidoff lighter in strength but aroma and construction amazing as I really enjoy the Millennium robusto maduro. As for Cuban Partagas D4 , Partagas # 2 maduro, serie E no. 2, hoyo de monterrey Rio Seco, epicure 2, Cohiba robusto I go back and forth strong and medium firm and loose Cuban and NewWorld. Bottom line is the best advice I could ever give is try as many different cigars as you can to satisfy your taste as it will change as new cigars come on line. My preference may not be anybody else preference and that is the crux of the whole comment, everybody has different wants and taste and must be experienced by themselves is the only way to know what is best for them. This was as long comment and just want to write I really enjoy cigar rants video. All the best to the you and the world of cigar smokers new and old aficionados. Bob Bennett an American retired in Asia and smoking every day 2-4 cigars of the world and still going strong at 72 years old.

Man that sounds like the kind of retirement I want. Two to four cigars a day and from what seems to be a great and in-depth understanding of cigars. Thank you so much for the kind words and for watching our videos it means alot. I really appreciate you taking the time to write out that comment and the suggestion are brilliant. Really appreciate your words and thank you so much for the support.

@@robertbennett2854 Thanks for your reply Bob. In Aust. we get smashed with taxes- it’s a complete disgrace. $1,600 tobacco excise per kilogram! I might order from Switzerland a week before I travel and have them posted to my hotel, and collect them from reception.

Great review… huge, huge fan of the San Juan - I’ll have to give the Rio S a try. The SJ also ages brilliantly and gets fantastically creamy, I wonder if the RS would age as well - it sounds like perhaps not quite as well… Perhaps I’ll have to give it a try - I think the SJ came out 2014/15 not sure about the RS but I think it might be a bit more recent… the SJ 2015 is just to die for…. Although suppose it depends what flavour profile you’re after.

Hi Osman, both very good cigars but I give the nod to the Rio de Seco. I was able to get cream, oak, salt, earth, cashews (box date of ESL July 2019) and was my favorite cigar for 2020. I will give the San Juan another try. Thanks for sparking my interest and as always, good review.

Yeah customs is a little annoying at times but I think many cigar smokers I've spoken to kind of expect it now. It's not form the company but I get what you mean. What I do is simply factor that cost in and then make purchases. That way I know if I'm still going to save money or not by buying from Montefortuna. The frustrating part is sometimes it can take a little while for customs to clear items and sometimes it's done immediately so no way of knowing how long i'ts going o take them lol.
