How Your View of God Affects Everything || Cultural Catalysts with Kris Vallotton & Jonathan Helser

In this week's episode of Cultural Catalysts, Kris Vallotton sat down for a conversation with Jonathan Helser, worship leader and co-founder of the 18 Inch Journey and Cageless Birds, to talk about how your view of God affects every area of your life. In their conversation, they discussed how to navigate memories that “cracked your lenses” view of God, the importance of discipleship, and living in the fullness of your identity.

Omigosh, you ask “who do you say God is?” Wow that’s a question I’ll be talking with Jesus about on my hike. And that prayer from Jonathan “if you’re in your car…” I am, and I agree all my dreams & desires will come to pass. Thank you!

We've never met, Kris, but my life is a testimony, just like Jonathan said, of my steps walking in the steps you have taken. You are a spiritual father to me and I am so thankful for you! God bless you and those whose lives you minister to. I am one of the Isaiah 61 people being redeemed and restored by the love of God.

Okay. First, thank you for this. Although I am posting prior to having actually watched it... (doesn't matter). I am rarely stirred to leave a comment. But about an hour ago my dad said to me, (after I was explaining how deception was kind of like being under a spell..) "We are so fortunate to have been transformed by God. Our view of Him affects everything in our lives-- thoughts, actions, everything." I agreed wholeheartedly, we had a brief discussion and then this video pops up, with this title. The relevance this evening :O !!! (AND after I felt so compelled to leave a comment for an outstanding Bill Johnson sermon). God is so good.

I love that he said that to you at the end, Kris. You don’t know me, but I say yes and amen. There have been so many times that I have taken comfort in the fathering spirit you carry. You inspire me deeply. Love you!

Love listening to this a third time.. I think another sad effect of fatherlessness is that young and adult children can turn to others to get affirmation. Who knows who among the talented people on TikTok or other social media show off their skills because they need someone to validate them?
