The cost of giardia treatment can just be absolutely ludicrous. It certainly was for my dog.

You can get the meds (I used Panacur) for cheap online and without prescription. Maybe also give some probiotics (friendly bacteria) and S. Boulardii (a probiotic yeast) to protect/repair the intestines and stop the diarrhea.

Thank you for this video! My new 7 month old cat has giardia and I have kept her separate in another room, box, food, etc. and let her out to play and integrate with my other pets….7 year old cat brother and sister, and my 12 year old shih tzu. Meds done…now in 8 weeks Lola will get another fecal test. Wish me luck they don’t all have it by Thanksgiving!

Treated both my dogs one time with ZOAFIN , it worked and they were negative a week later when we went back to the holistic vet.

Dr Judy Morgan says that DE diatomaceous earth can be helpful for this as well…

My puppy had diarrhée from day we picked him from breeder .. was diagnosed with giardia after pooh samples sent to labs .. his diarrhée lasted 10 days poor boy with wind and swollen belly. Panucur given to him on the 8 th days gradually stopped almost all soft poohs.. and he now sleeps through the night .. finally no more pains .. breeder is washing his hands from it all saying all other puppies are fine.. it takes 1to 3 weeks from infection to symptoms and some dogs may never have any symptoms.. Breeder had starved our puppy before we picked him up saying he didn’t want him to pooh in our car and the week before gave me excuses not to send pictures.. now I know why as when we picked him up he looked smaller than original videos/ pics.. some people have no conscience...

One sided and only part of a very big story Imma say its 50/50 at fault. And as We see many of your Own fk ups with this you definitely aimed to shift the blame to Only one side. I hope the breeder as well as you learned a lesson and Most importantly Hopefully the dog is well and in BETTER hands.

I work at a doggie day care and I do worry about getting this. There is one main dog who is most likely to carry it because she is a bad poo eater. I always wash my hands when I go on my noon break to eat lunch,and again before I go home.

I had a puppy who had mucus diarrhea with bright red blood spots, never had a normal poop, ran high fever always, no appetite,lethargic and I had him treated with antibiotics, anti diarrhea med,probiotics, etc. had fecal sample checked, cat scan ,and blood work done ...NOTHING! They were baffled and sent us to internal med emergency hospital and they said they had to keep him and one hour later I got a call that he's gone. Why??? He was only 4mos old and sick all his life. I don't know history bcuz I got him when he was one month old and he's always been sick. Can u plz help me figure out the most probable cause of his sickness and death plz, I'm having a hard time coping with his death I feel guilty like I should've done something diffeeent so I hope by maybe figuring out what was most likely wrong maybe I can have closure ! If u don't know maybe u have vet friends also?

Yes.

Treat your yard with bleach water, if you don’t you will have repeat infections. Trust me on this, went thru an ongoing battle with giardia. The dogs got it, and I would get it as well. So annoying.

Why is my vet making me wait 6 weeks to have my German puppy checked, but how do you get rid of diarrhea, I have been giving rice, hamburger meat, with a small amount of dog food. But it’s not hardened the stool plus I am giving probtic

There are many causes of diarrhea in a German puppy. Your veterinarian will need to diagnose the cause to decide on the treatment. Will they let you drop off a fresh stool sample to test for parasites?

@@VetVid , no they want me to wait 6 weeks, and told me today he might need the medication again, honestly all the vets in MA are quitting they don’t want to work, this vet took me cuz I knew the girl there , but we are so short with vets it’s ashame , but I can’t keep going there, he had such a bad diarrhea like 5 times today and they just want me to buy stupid things
