One would think, I have only found my female friends as easy relationships, we don’t judge, we listen, lift up.. it’s the ones closest to me I feel silenced… and I no longer can do that, so my fears are tests in my eyes, but I’m done setting on the sold lines! But I know staying still is not working!

Relationships are always an opportunity to be taught something. I love, in particular what Eckhart is saying about inner space in relationships. Just sitting a moment with the essence of another, is such a gift. May we all find these wonderful moments with each other and treasure them.

I always blamed one of my friends for being one of the causes of a deep depression I endured which lasted years. It took many years for me to finally get through this depressive state in which certain situations or even passing comments could trigger an amplification in a depressive mood. This depression took me on a path to awakening and to test my awakened state I moved in with the friend which triggered my depression. I no longer feel a sense of hatred, anger or blame toward him, I feel compassion for him as another suffering human being.

@@dnabart the purpose of OP’s post was that the “one” in YOU that judges another as a “narcissist” IS in fact the unconscious narcissist. If you haven’t first noticed the narcissistic-ness in yourself then you have no choice but to see it in another (it’s all to a degree/spectrum of course). But once you’ve seen it in yourself then it’s like, who am I to judge? Because when someone lives from the unconscious identity of the ego they HAVE NO CHOICE but to act from their conditioning. A conditioning that they never had a choice in to begin with.

Thinking that I'm spiritually advanced is the challenge. Loving is a natural state of being. It isn't learned, it's provided. The self, by surrendering,is provided love, not by doing, but by just being. By surrendering self, even learning has been surrendered. Everything that I am is provided by the source.

what i learnt in life is that you can't always focus on the positive or "pretend" all is well to get past a hard time in your life. it is important to know about dangers and bad things in the world so you can act and handle them when they try to get a piece of you. i envy everyone who lives on an island of harmony with no dangers in sight, just be careful that you are not surprised and paralyzed the moment evil may strike.

The moment you act as if Enlightenment is far away from you, as you don’t have it, that you must achieve it. You push it away. Because it’s already here, there’s no trying to “attain” enlightenment. You are enlightenment, and the mind thinks it’s a specific state of mind or a specific ongoing feeling. It is not. Those come and go. You are awareness of these things. It’s only the mind that tries to distract you from this realization, by saying “I wish I can be like him someday”. The fact you are aware of this thought is enlightenment. If you are aware of said thought/emotion, you are not it. You’re beyond it.

In my second marriage I realized that leaving was no real solution. We shared well, deeply. Our pain bodies, too, were a perfect match, tho I didn't know to call them that at the time. I also somewhat sensed that the only work I could effectively do or be to relieve my suffering, to awaken, was within. My partner has transitioned, yet the work continues. To aporeciate the great sharing. To not blame either one of us for the pain, but to open to mine.. I feel we still work together in this, and that he has moved beyond much; helps me see things differently, even while presence does, as well. Still in this together?

" If there is dysfunction in you, egoic dysfunction, that will manifest in all relationships." Is hard to know that now, as romantic relationships for the most part have burned me up, but in relationship to family, friends that are few, it's good as long as there's space in me, it's like a balancing act, that's why as lovly as it is coming togeather with family it is also lovly being alone again.Don't know is it even possible to maintain any kind of relationship without being alone. Thanks Eckhart 🙏 Know this probably is not related to the subject matter above but just here now in this moment feel an amazing sence of gratitude to all the one's that so called let me down. Never in my wildest dreams did ever think that would be here thanking everyone of them. It's wonderful🙏

I think it's important to understand that all environments influence us positively and negatively with varying degrees of intensity. I'm sure if we started nailing Eckhart to a cross there would be reactivity. He might recover presence after the endogenous pain killers kicked in. For another person the reactivity would kick in with a leaf blower. Presence has to overcome that influence to prevail, and each environment offers a head-wind of some sorts.

A technical comment: fading into nature is a good ending. A babbling brook that fades out slowly at the end would bring about more presence than this sound which is hard to tell what it is without looking and then cuts off. Since this is a template it seems worth the extra few minutes to design it for all the videos.

"Space" can be brought to a relationship when at least one person has practised going within themselves & found real stillness.. & once they're able to remain in that stillness more & more, the opportunity to have "space" within a relationship (intimate relationship especially) is possible, which assists one to NOT be robbotically triggered by a partner's emotions & become reactive, & also to BE more present in the act of love making, which provides the succour & panacea to a lot of our personal wounds. That said, it's important to remember that relationships are for enjoying each other as much as an invaluable opportunity for reflecting on and discovering our state of consciousness & egoistic foibles 🙏💚
