    Man I watched tons and tons of this guy's videos Way back in the day.......... As I sit here in February of 2024 I can completely understand why he left trucking and hasn't even bothered updating or making any new content for this channel..... In my opinion even before this freight recession when you look at every aspect of trucking you'll see that it is a fractured corrupt industry slowly withering away and dying.... Every time you turn around there's something to cost you money..... The new money making business in trucking Is finding a way to get into the owner operator/fleet owners pockets......Not to mention the scamming scheming hustling corruption .

    Many people spend most of their time in a conversation thinking about what they want to say next rather than listening to what is being said to them. Best of luck, keep making videos and be well. You are an engaging speaker and teacher, you have a lot to give beyond being ‘just another trucking KZreadr’. I look forward to following your adventures.

    I'm currently in a trucking school working on getting my cdl, paying for the entire course on my credit card. Things didn't work out for me in college and have been receiving income on a minimum wage job for a few years now. I aspire to gain as much wisdom that you pass on here as well as other trucker KZread channels to help me pass and kick start my new trucking career. Combining that with the help and training that my trucker dad will provide me in his truck when I'm not on the school yard, and I already have a good feeling about passing the pre trip and road test months from now. I appreciate the content on your channel. Greetings from New Jersey.

    I’m looking to getting into the life and with that I have to say I pray I can do it ! It’s the backing into places that terrifies me however I am in a situation that at my age and for the pay I have no other choice to turn my families lives around it’s a long boring story lol but I love your videos! You are very rare ! I see many making videos but there content isn’t as genuine or seems ! Ty for that ! Anyways my reason to comment is that if I can pull this off getting my cdls which I know I will the hardest part is after the fact when your on the road ! I am paying upfront to learn to drive a truck and I pray that not signing on with a company for training isn’t the road I need to go ! I pray I’m making the right choice as far as the right place to learn and it’s in berea ky she says there rate is like 95% I pray that’s not a lie but my questions are is paying upfront to be free from any contract is that a better way to get them and the cost is 5k for 4 weeks of training!? It’s in berea ky I’m from here and ohio but I pray to get some loads south I know I can’t control where I’ll drive but for me when I pay for this I can’t waist this $ and not succeed so maybe where I have no other choice lol maybe that makes a big difference’ anyways please any advice you can give please!? Im Also going to read ever comment for any experienced drivers out here ! I also have always wanted to have a channel but for different content! However I will and would love to video tape content and to pass any any knowledge of what I learn and I find this extremely important! But my main reason to comment is I wanted to note as a child me and my family lived on the road my parents where promoters and so we was on the highway a lot ! Cali, N Mexico 🇲🇽, Florida east south west almost every where but we always tailed truckers back then and I remember how helpful and kind and how they did look out for themselves and for even others ty for sharing again!

    I’m a broker for an assets based company. It’s brutal right now. We are the ones that come up with available loads that appear on load boards. We don’t always win. I have a CDL too with tanker. I drove. The shippers are in control right now. It is what it is.

  • @tdkx2

    @tdkx2

    Жыл бұрын

    Whatever. I’m about done covering loads that basement brokers fell off on. I came up with a last second step deck for a shipper yesterday and explicitly explained my price and an what times would be involved. Shipper gave me the wrong consignee info so I called the consignee’s main desk and eventually someone called me back but the shipper had agreed to the rate and time change. So the consignee starts issuing demands on me as to exactly what second of the day the driver will arrive. Well, for F sakes, it’s lucky I have a driver on it and he’s at the shipper. The driver had dropped a previous load so I knew he had hours used. I don’t know where he has to stop and the dispatch gave me a time which was correct. I told the consignee that that I would call in the morning and update on the drivers location. I did. He was 59 miles out of Nashville. This consignee guy took that to mean one hour. WTF? No. He’s 59 miles out. This guy thinks we have military cruise missile guidance systems and hundreds of satellites. Dude, no trucker tools and macropoint run off cell phone towers. You don’t get up to the second updates. Then the guy throws me under the bus with the shipper. Wait a minute now. It wasn’t me that f’d up. The load showed up exactly when I originally said it would. So the shipper f’d up with going with the cheapest rate and the consignee f’d up by assuming that 59 miles out meant exactly 1 hour. The only thing I am guilty of is finding a step deck on short notice and getting a load to the consignee within a matter of hours of what was originally promised via a basement broker by the shipper on Monday. The road to hell is paved with good intentions isn’t it?

    I have watched a few of your videos, but I wouldn't encourage newbie truckers to make KZread videos while they are driving, that's just an accident waiting to happen, and there is enough of those out there already. If you want to learn more about trucking while out on the road then ask while you are at a truck stop, get a CB and start talking away. But that's the biggest problem right there, most truckers these days don't have a CB's or if they do they have them turned off while they are driving because they are too busy making You Tube videos... By the way, I have been drinving trucks sense I turned 21 and I am 56 now, so you do the math..

    I agree and disagree. I've been doing this for a long time. The youtube channels and filming while they are driving is dumb. As for your other point, I'm not on the CB because I don't want to listen to a bunch of blow hard old men who think they are talk radio hosts. It's just the hot dog super truckers anymore. I can find many other ways to entertain myself or learn what I need to know. I only use the CB for traffic.

    Hi ! will you do more videos ? Are you still trucking ? Any updates ? If you were as old as me, i would guess you retired but you re still young....well....compare to me ! lol I m a retired Canadian trucker who did everything everywhere in Canada...Coast to Coast ! for 35 years ! I was 27 when i started driving trucks ! I started with a 5 ton truck doing textile rolls deliveries in just a few miles radius ! lol then i started with day-cabs for 1 year to get experience ! then i started hiway with my own truck in 1986 ! that was my 1985 Mack R Model 350 econodyne engine, no air-ride, no A/C ! lol ! throughout my 35 years, i drove all the trucks, all the trailers and all the loads ! It was always a challenge untill i had nothing new i could do ! Small and big transport companies and everything in between ! You guys who are just starting can ask me any question ! Here in Canada we haul heavy ! when you pull 5 axle trailers up hill....it s different ! lol ! i did it all for many years in summer and Winter ! lol ! have a safe one ! Oh ! my first truck is the one on my logo ! if you click on it , you ll see it bigger ! lol....over n out.........🤠

It will take time but it's worth ten times what's at home.Aply your skills what you learned in trucking for your new profession and don't look back and you will be that person you are.

    I’m going in the opposite direction. I have been otr for 3+ yrs, and have had my cdl for 5+ yrs. I’ve always been a company driver and considering buying a truck. My question, I’m considering spending $170k on a 389?! I would be leasing on with my current company, but hope to be independent in 2yrs! Am I delusional?! lol

    Would it be best to not have your lease or purchase with the company your drive for? It just seems that having a lease with the company you drive for puts a lot of power in their hands. Do you fully trust the company to do right and not starve you after you have made a couple of years of payments on their truck?

    @@devtransport9020 you may be taking it too personally. He's talking about the basic shift in the trucking world. The lack of manners, respect, PRIDE, talking with one another, being courteous to strangers, driving/parking/fueling etiquette, and on and on. But it's not just what happens on the road either, it's also what the 'shirts' are doing. The ones who wouldn't know how to drive if their life depended on it. Their lack of respect for drivers. Remember - just talking in broad strokes here. There are obviously exceptions.

    None of us were born with one hand on a wheel & the other on the shifter. I've been driving 30 years so like you, cdl is in my blood. I was never a real OTR driver. 28 years hauling fuel. I never dismiss a younger driver wanting to learn. I've always been happy to give any advice. We should train the generation behind us, not post videos making fun of them & laughing at them. It's no wonder most cdl holders don't renew after 4 years. When I age out I sure hope there will be trucks still bring what we need.

    I'm 25 No Kids. Own A Home With My Fiance He Has A Great Job (40k/yr) And I'm Working For Myself Cleaning Houses And Barely Making 20k After Expenses. I Love What I Do And Love My Clients But I've Done It For A Long Time Now, And Looking For A Change. Trucking Is Something I've Always Thought About Since I Was A Kid But Never Thought I Had What It Takes To Seriously Drive One, And I Still Don't Know. I'm Honestly A Great Driver Out On The Freeway And I Love Driving Fast And Racing People But I'm Not A Great At Parking, Maneuvering/Reversing, etc. Also I Can Only Drive Automatic. And I Know Nothing About Fixing Cars Or Trucks 🫣🤣 So If I Ever Broke Down On The Road I'd Be Effed For Sure. Also Being Still For Long Periods Of Time Is Not Something I'm Good At; I Have To Move Around A Lot And Exercise All The Time, That's Why I Like Cleaning. But I Do Love Being By Myself So Being On The Road For Months At A Time Wouldn't Be A Problem For Me. Also I Never Sleep As It Is So That Wouldn't Be An Issue Either. My Fiance And I Have Talked About Me Possibly Doing This And He's Telling Me To Go For It. He's Probably Excited For Me To Do Anything That Makes Us More Money Because We're Barely Making It As Things Are Right Now. We Want To Buy Rental Properties Together And Have Many Other Goals Which Will Never Come To Fruition Unless I Do Something Differently. I'm Not Great At Working With/For Other People, So I Know The First Year Or So Is Not Going To Be Fun For Me. But I'm Sure Will Definitely Be Worth It. I'm Not Afraid Of Failing, But Have A Lot Of Anxiety, And Don't Like Being Social Like At All So That's The Main Thing Holding Me Back. Idk But Anyone That Read This Long Ass Shit What Do You Think 🤣🤣
