The Depression hit Germany , Italy and Japan hard . The middle class was hollowed out . Poverty and inflation created political instability and political extremism . First there was a rise in communism , and in reaction to this , far right militarism .

Damn the blurring of scenes censorship!

From the sounds of it, there is plenty of footage here (mind you, shot by some very dedicated and courageous people) that a whole new generation COULD'VE learned from. The words explain the context of the images on screen - but its the picture thats "worth a thousand words" - well, thats only really true if THE PICTURE ISNT CENSORED!!! The ramifications of censoring history are frightening to comprehend. There can ONLY be sinister reasons and its now being done openly in the only country that ever was the last hope for humanity. Not anymore

It has great clips ( although some much repeated ) great commentators . I would suggest the focus could take in the violent left in equal measure , which would explain the reason why what are now termed extreme right movements gained broad support. The 20s and 30s' had living example of extreme "left " politics in Soviet Russia. It acted as a mirror in the same way that fascist regimes do in present narratives. Soviet Russia begins in extreme social and political violence in continues. It has the first messianic totalitarian. regime with external branches operating globally . undermining liberal democracy everywhere and occasionally. staging violent coups eg Bulgaria . The economics is crucial to the plot, but one must understand the perceptions of the moderate electorates. When they. abandon social democratic and liberal conservatives in favour of. what seems to the present mad and obviously bad alternatives.

There's no doubt Wall Street's Crash in Oct 1929 caused the Great Depression that trigged a world wide economic financial banking collapse disaster that took down Germany's Weimar Republic, as Hitler had predicted would happen, consequently provided Hitler with his opportunity to attain power. But the Great Depression would not have triggered the downfall of Germany's Weimar Republic, created after Germany's defeat in WW1 and subsequent exile of Kaiser Wilhelm II, and the allies Treaty of Versailles which put great punishing restraints, reparations, military downsized, causing massive unemployment, etc, which set Germany on the eventual path to Nazism - Hitler's 3rd Reich and WW2, if not for Germany's Kaiser Wilhelm II, who was the key factor that created WW1, via Kaiser Wilhelm's Black Check support to Austria-Hungary's Franz Joseph in it's war against Serbia for the assassination of Arch Duke Franz Ferdinand and his wife, which then trigged Russia's troop deployment as the protector of Serbia as a Slav Nation, hence triggered the alliance with France, and with Germany's invasion of Belgium in the Schlieffen Plan triggered the Entente' Cordial alliance with Britain in war against Germany, hence if not for Germany's Kaiser Wilhelm II, WW1, and hence WW2 would never have happened.
