    @Zippy [Vtuber] I saw something a few days ago that suggested loud music to help push through and ngl it actually helps me a LOT. There was science behind how and why loud music helps people through their executive disfunction but I don't remember. All I know is I just pick a song and play it, either blasting through my earbuds or kind of loud on my phone, TV, etc. Somehow it's been working and triggers me enough to get up and start whatever it is I need to do, which is often the hardest part. Not saying it's a 100% success one size fits all solution, but I'm still surprised it's been effective for me so worth a shot to let others know and it might work for you too.

    “He goes through streaks of motivation where he says he will do things, only to not follow through” That sounds just like me when I was severely depressed, trying to end my life _every day,_ was doing all types of substances, never went out, constantly harmed myself in other ways, etc! I wasn’t lazy, I wasn’t trying to get away from people just because and when I made goals or plans, if I didn’t follow through with it, it wasn’t just because I didn’t feel like it or I couldn’t be bothered! We all know Wings is at least, a little, messed up mentally and he’s not been properly or consistently getting help which only makes it worse! However, it’s not as simple as “you’re depressed and can’t do anything? Just go out and smile, there you go; fixed!” If it was genuinely that simple, a lot of people wouldn’t be dealing with mental health problems and a lot of counsellors would be out *a lot* of money!

    Yeah a lot of the stuff people hate him for is pretty normal really. There's a million videos of people freaking out after a stressful or high stakes match and breaking their controller or worse, most people I know have done that at least once in their life, and there's tons of famous commentators who have rivals or people they hate in their community. KZread is full of people who take a specific game way too seriously or play it religiously, play just about any game or peruse Steam reviews and you'll come across people with thousands or even TENS of thousands of hours logged into a game. Tons of games have wikis with people who've picked apart data on a game to a obsessive degree, even dissecting the games code for data. There are also a ton of streamers who say dumb shit since their whole channel is stream of consciousness ramblings. Really the exceptional part of this story is how fanatical and how toxic his fans are and how devoted they are to ruining his life.

    As sad as this story is, I think it's also a cautionary tale about what you put out there for public consumption as a streamer. There's so much ammunition people can use against Wings because he's made so many things available; try to keep as much as your life private as possible. Even if personal engagement is a big part of streaming, set boundaries. Clearly, being an individual looking for a community and validation didn't help him. And the fact that he is fully aware of his position and still keeps showing up for their taunts & cruel messaging, it shows that he will never fail. It also makes their lives just as if not more so pathetic than his life, cause it means they want him to fail but can't get enough of the sipping from the misery that he produces for them - they are parasites living off his misery, which makes them more pathetic than him.

    The real question I've always been curious to know the answer for is... Are fat people dumb because they are fat? Or are they fat because they are dumb? It might be easy to say that a dump individual has a lot more chance of not understanding how food works vs exercising but sometimes correlations can be misleading, how can we be sure a high level of fat doesn't affect the brain in some negative ways? The brain is mostly made of fat so it shouldn't be surprising of being affected by this.

  • @Naetrox

    @Naetrox

    Жыл бұрын

    @@Reth_Hard Correlation is not cause. You may find there are more fat dumb people out there, but there is also a problem with access to proper nutrition among poorer families - if these families don't have enough income to send their kids to college, the issue becomes generational. Understanding food and exercise also has nothing to do with intelligence. Most fat people will understand how they could lose weight, but it is actually quite hard to lose weight contrary to popular belief. It's also fairly hard to gain weight. Some people are fat because they eat to self-medicate - depression, anxiety; many things. Food gives you dopamine boosts, i.e. makes you feel good. If you have a shitty life, it's more likely you'll start overeating to compensate neurologically. Some people are fat because they're genuinely just lazy and don't give a shit. People often assume all fat people are like that, but that's kind of a weird thing to assume. As for the effect of being fat on the brain, I am not aware of any studies showing a reduction in IQ or whatever. It can of course affect you physically, which in turn can affect you mentally. Diabetes and other comorbidities could impact your mental faculties, but not to the degree of making someone "dumb". I'm overweight myself, have been for a while. I do exercise, I don't eat much anymore (undereat infact), and yet I can't lose weight. In my particular case, some of the medicine I need introduces problems with weight management. My metabolism doesn't work really well.

And that's horrible to think about.

    I disagree, you shouldn't feel sorry for him. He's an objectively horrible person, he only cares about himself, he has abused, mistreated, and taken advantage of everyone in his life, REFUSES to accept that he ever did anything wrong, and all of the bad things in his life are 100% his own fault. No one "got him banned", he got banned for repeatedly saying racist things and telling players he wishes their children would die. He bragged about killing a kitten. He emotionally abuses his wife, Kellie. He only gained weight in the first place because another kid was better than him at sports and he wanted to trounce him by being bigger. That "life saving surgery" was pure vanity, it was elective, and he refused to do the work necessary to get the surgery in the US which required weight loss. He has always been horrid. That is why he has so many trolls. Much like Cyraxx, he brought it on himself. Oh, and that fight that you claimed was going to change his channel for the better? Lol no. Like always, he's too lazy to capitalize on anything. All he does is complain. He will never accept any responsibility for himself, and THAT is why he has trolls. He feeds them every single day. I feel no sympathy for him, and neither should you. You're wasting your good will on someone who does not deserve it, when there are hundreds of actual victims who do.

    I've never gone as deep on Wings as you have, but at one point I read and looked into just about every thread on KF. It does start off with LOLs and OMGs but the more you watch the more you can empathize with them. I think they present good cautionary tales, because a lot of people do these kinds of behaviors on a smaller scale and it's probably causing problems in their own lives. If you look long enough into a lolcow, the lolcow will gaze back into you.

    Man, it's crazy how many potential chances he's had, how many people he's had reach out and try to help him. FPS Russia (and friends) invited him to live with FPS Russia (If I recall correctly) and exercise/have support and all that. Most people would kill to have friends who cared that much and would actually lend a hand. Like, imagine having a weight problem and one of your friends just says "Yeah, come live with me I'll cook and we can exercise together", that's nuts.

People always say, "yeah he gets trolled a lot, but hes a bad person so it's justified" I know the whole wings lore, is he really that bad of a person? He took pride in the only thing he felt good at it in life, gaming, then let his ego get out of control because of it. Sounds pretty normal honestly and not deserving of everything he gets...

    Found Wings way back at the beginning, listened to him through all of his time on PKA, and it's weird because with such a long back story for me personally I can't help but have this parasocial feeling of wanting him to overcome it all. Glad to see him getting more love since winning the fight and this is a great video, recognising that he is massively flawed but what he has to endure is just cruel at this point and he is trapped.

    I feel like I've seen all of the Wings docs by now, and this is probably my favorite one so far. I've been watching him since he started on YT. Not as a fan necessarily, but he filled a niche back then that few people were, so I'd watch his content fairly often. Then I lost track of him for ages only to get sucked down the rabbit hole, too, and I had missed a lot of his life so it was fascinating to hear about. But after awhile I got increasingly sick of the angle of each video to be from the perspective of "ha, look at this fuckin' loser clown" and so your ability to really humanize him more than the others is refreshing. I'd love to see him do better for himself, and I have for ages, even if he's deeeeeeefinitely not without his many faults. It'd nice to see his online name fit for once.
