I received a $600 refund...
It’s unfair seniors must pay the same as younger ones in their retirement days with limited monies

Yeah, totally agree. Seniors should at least be removed from obligation paying school district taxes. Hope the Texas legislature takes this up in the future. Thanks.
That bill did noting for Starr county, they just rise the value of your property. If ur property was 60 thousand now it in the upper 80s so you will pay more taxes on it

Lampasas used new software. I screwed up 2022 for many. Now, all those people are delinquent in taxes. At least they are giving 6 months no penalties to pay the new bill. I am only on the good for 1600 but spoke with others well over 2 grand. TX laws prevent excess in escrow acct so in order to lower mortgage payments the entire shortages must be paid in full before they readjust the payment.
Dont be fooled they cut are taxes so alot more business would move to north texas
Not holding my breath. All utilities have gone up hugely. All insurances. My school district even tried to pass a school bond, twice. It failed. One way or another, the state and local entities rob us year after year. If you are a senior citizen, you should not have to pay property taxes at all. What's in it for me?
Alot of people 65 an over will go back to work an pay taxes on work pay.

It won’t. They will reassess our houses and raise our taxes anyway.
But that property tax thing will allow 20% instead of 10% for values going up for all of us. So that means they can raise up to 20% which may bite us eventually. Also they are taking away from school money for kids so not sure this will be good.
It will allow Californians who cant pay taxes on their ancestral home to sell and move to Texas.
They need to tax people not born in Texas and do not have over 10 years living in Texas. Also native Texans have priority to buy a house not people from other states and companies
