Just started plant based 6 days ago and loving it so far. Started it in an attempt to get lean after 58 years. I was working out and hit a spot where I just couldn't get the numbers to move. Started research on plant based eating and figured it would help by simply reducing my caloric intake if nothing else. I stumbled on your vids looking for ways to kick things up a notch. Never considered how much the oil made a difference. Great results so far, lets see how eliminating oil helps. Thanks for the advice!

Started looking more at food as something that will fuel me than just hit the cravings. Obviously that fuel will taste good too. I’m talking chevron with techron (imagine if this was a new style of ad lol 😳). So finding less calorically dense foods filled with fiber and protein that fill me up for longer and help get me all those nutrients. I used to eat for instance an entire bad of chips and STILL feel hungry like an hour later and not know why. But now if all makes sense. Anyways! I hope both of your journeys are going well and that with the troubles of Covid you’ve found more time cooking and finding creat nutritious recipes :)))

I'm on board with everything you're saying! You are well informed to let us know about the free radicals as well as the 0 nutrient density. Some people only mention one or two other. I just ordered a pressure cooker/air fryer combo, and dehydrator trays which I plan to use as airfrying trays too. There's a basket that comes with it but I want to see if the food crisps better on the trays. I want to convert standard recipes to vegan oil free recipes, with some of that texture, that my diabetic boyfriend can enjoy and hopefully reverse his diabetes by reducing his weight and insulin resistance. I learned from Dr Greger that saturated fat is a key factor in diabetes, it's not just the empty carbs! Thanks for the well presented and colorful video!

I made some oil free tofu nuggets that turned out very well. Just made a batter of nutritional yeast, curry powder, extra turmeric, smoked paprika, Himalayan salt, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Coated all the pieces and put them in the air fryer at 400 degrees for 20 minutes or so (depends on how crispy you want them) and had some really delicious tofu nuggets. Would go nicely with the fries in this video.

Indoors I am oil-free and added sugar free (my exception is I do enjoy maple syrup on popcorn rarely). I have avoided silicon mats for baking so far. I couldn't find safety research on them for baking, so I have stuck to using paper myself. I also do not limit myself when I eat out (which isn't often). Another exception is if something new comes out, I may buy it and cook it at home, so I might try a new burger (I recently tried the beyond meat burger for the first time), I like to keep up with new stuff, but I do not buy stuff like that regularly, just as a test to see what new stuff people have dreamed up. 90% of the time cook everything for scratch...

Dude I was always so confused about the whole yam and sweet potato confusion, but one day I finally researched it enough and found the answer: THE ARE ALL SWEET POTATOES. Everything you see in a store whether it is labeled a yam or a sweet potato is in fact a SWEET POTATO. There are many different kinds. The only yam that exists is one from Africa that is VERY large, white, and very hard and is rarely ever seen in stores. Don’t listen to the produce peeps they never know. LOL!!!! Anyways, fun fact. Hopefully this clears things up for people. :)

The biggest difference yams have more sugar then sweet potatoes. Yams are lower in vit Aand C. Confusion began when the slaves saw the sweet potatoes. They used their word for sweet potatoes and the slave owners misheard. The owners called them yams.
