@@el_duderino_man Protein farts aren't really real. They're a result of the other ingredients in the powders. Switched from filler filled powders to powders with fewer ingredients and more whole natural ingredients, and the protein farts stopped. When it was just whey isolate, stevia, and I think one other ingredient, there was no bloating, no gas.

What confused me is I just got some ultra premium protein powder for the price of regular protein because they were out of the kind I wanted (no sweeteners or flavors) but the normal stuff per 30 grams is 27grams of protein and this premium stuff is also 27grams per 30 🤷 it has like a darker white yellowish tinge to it. So what's different

Glad that this is showing more people you do NOT need to pay for the most expensive brands. Protein is protein, whey protein is going to be a very high quality source regardless of where you get it. Don’t fall for the marketing, colorful labels, endorsements / sponsored influencers, buzz phrases like “lean muscle”, “special blend to promote recovery”, etc. Companies know what gets people hyped. The suggestion that they’re the only brand you can trust, the endorsements from athletes, the idea that people think “lean muscle” is a special type of muscle you can only get from specific protein sources. They rely on newbies’ lack of critical thinking skills and general knowledge. Don’t fall for it, save your money and go with whatever cheap whey you can find in bulk

In comparison, eggs were 7-15 cents per gram of protein, beef steak was 21 cents per g of protein. Chicken 15 cents. Obviously whole foods contain other macro and micronutrients though. But protein wise whey isolates are the best.

Some companies would have to add ingredients after the fact. The protein I use has chips ahoy in it. Plus there has to be some sort of processing they're not showing. For example the nutritional labels differ for types of whey such as isolate and hydrolyzed. some are lactose free as well which indicates further processing. This is what I assume the premium comes from.

Milk contains lots of fats, protein powder users generally need our shakes to contain a lot of protein with as little fat as possible. Also, convenience is a big factor. Being a powder, I can take my shaker to work, with a scoop of protein ready and have it all day sitting in my backpack, no problem. When I finish my traning, I just need to add water. Milk would spoil if I did that.
