Its obvious you don’t really understand exactly the wave of revolution that is blowing over the African continent. Its not about Russia or Europe. It about Africa's freedom from Imperialism and neo-colonialism. Africa was never given independence and they are fighting for total liberation.

I like the way you didnt mention the reason that African countries turn towards Russia and China is not that Russia and China are that great or bully them into doing so; but rather that the West has exploited and used them for decades, centuries even, and they are sick of it. Chinese investments which aim to create a win-win situation are so much more welcome than French ones, which aim to exploit, keep poor and give some aid, as a band aid. For this reason, the West has brought this over itself.

No, Russia and China are also blood sucker like French. It's more like Africa has 10 doller. If French exploit them, frenchy bois would take 6 out of 10. Then China comes up with a deal to exploit 4 out of 10, after that Russia came and offered to exploit 2 out of 10. Everyone's prime target is exploiting, it's about who comes with a better deal. Africa will be exploited anyway.

Exactly. The major strategy of the Chinese is, they offer you their help to build whatever you deem to be necessary for your country for free. In return the only thing they want in return for their help is, if a new ressource gets discovered, let's say gas, that you give them exclusive rights and conditions to buy and export the gas to China. And if your country does not find new ressources, you don't have to pay them anything back. In other words they don't enslave other countries through debt and interest rates. They offer countries fair deals on eye level that benefits both sides. My apologies for my poor English.

Only praises in this comment section. Sorry, but not from me. You omitted the most important aspect: Not a word about the thievery from the west that has taken place since the resources were discovered. This is the only reason why the population hates the West and not the inefficiency in combating terrorism. And by the way, the exploitation of Africa is also the reason for that very terrorism. It goes without saying that what Wagner does is despicable, but what the west did over the last decades is immeasurably worse. It is not perceived as such as they were more subtle...

While grievances towards the west are definitely warranted, there have not been any policy changes over the past 3 years that would have caused 7 coups over such a short period of time... You need to look into Luc Michel, a Belgian self proclaimed stalinist that runs targeted media campaigns across these specific countries to subvert public opinion. The man is quite proud of the work he does, destabilizing entire regions, and is thoroughly devoted to creating a new world order where authoritarianism, and lifetime leaders are the norm. There's a lot of speculation that his network is supplying all of the Russian flags and Wagner signs at the protests. You have to admit, it's incredibly suspicious that a crowd of people pushing back against colonialism and foreign interference would not be waving their own flags, but the flags of a different colonial power, that has taken advantage of the destabilization from other coups, and the subsequent economic dives post-coup, to gain control of their natural resources... This is neo-colonialism on a scale not seen since pre-WW1... and many people can't fathom it, or are willfully ignorant of it due to their distrust of the West and it's past mistakes. Civilization evolved to do away with monarchy and autocracy, through liberalism, and I fear that there's a push to return to monarchic/autocratic systems by those with little historical and sociological context.

I know the welfare of Nigerians and Africans in general is not of interest to you. This is report is not truthful and will only impress those not fully informed of the problems on the ground. It's been established that France created insurgency and terrorists groups. We know that there are areas where the French prevent local official government soldiers from venturing into areas of their own country. Some of the information is egregiously wrong. The Tuareg rebellion was not Islamist, it was nationalist. Azawad nationalists (MNLA) actually fought the Islamists (Ansar Al-Dine) but lost. The reason the nationalist uprising began was bc Gaddafi employed Tuareg mercs and when the NATO bombed Libya and Gaddafi lost, the Tuareg troops took their Libyan heavy weapons and made a break for independence. This is why Azawad doesn’t try to extend into southern Mali. If it were Islamist it would. It’s shocking how little basic research was done for this video. The ABC’s own news reports from Apr 6 2012 paint a totally different, more truthful picture than this video

However the Islamist tuaregs defeated the nationalists and that led to the situation you described. This detail is important bc the program ignores nationalism and paints every conflict as terrorism. It’s politically easier for France to fight Ansar al-Dine than to invade a new nation and risk triggering public memories of Algeria

The emergence of the extremist Al-Qaeda group in Mali can be attributed in part to the Arab Spring, which the West, including France and the USA, inadvertently fueled. This was exacerbated by their intervention in Libya, resulting in the overthrow of Muammar Gaddafi's leadership and subsequent destabilization of the entire region. Timbuktu in Mali became one of the unfortunate victims of this turmoil.

Well for starters he has left out the fact that Wagner forces are ruthlessly effective when it comes to fighting jihadists and they've managed to bring some semblance of control in the areas where they conduct operations. Also he keeps on invoking the US in this while the US has largely stayed out of this conflict ,I get the sense that he's trying to drive the narrative that being pro Russia means you are anti- West or Anti US...which may be true in Europe and USA but this is not how African countries function ...there's no Anti West - Pro China/ Russia or vice versa narrative in Africa... African politics even domestic politics doesn't function like that that's why you never see headlines such as 'far right or far left leader elected president of .... country ' People burning French flags doesn't mean they are Anti west ,they are just Anti French just that
