HOW WE TREAT OUR GUESTS ON THE AMALFI COAST! EP 258

We were gifted a day on a boat from www.bluestarpositano.it. Thank you to Elisabeth, Peppe and our captain Carlo for a fantastic day. We ate at Da Teresa Ristorante, Amalfi.
We also drove up to Monte Faito and ate at Hotel Ristorante Sant' Angelo. THe viewpoint over Naples is just to the side of the Bar Belvedere (which is also great to eat at).

I've never eaten them but have seen a lot of razor clam shells on the beaches along the west coast of Scotland. Watching this made me long to be back on the Amalfi Coast reliving our boat trip from Sorrento to Capri. Such a beautiful part of the world with beautiful people.

And how cute is kitty. As she came along like another puppy for a walk. That was adorable!! Just a side note the climate the sea air and the tall olive trees. Make. The. Best. Olive oil. If you're looking for help with the olive harvest next year at your new place, I'd highly recommend the WWOOF organization! It's an excellent work/stay org that connects farms with volunteers. Last year I spent a few weeks at a small family farm in Borgo San Lorenzo and it was an amazing experience! Helped the family with livestock, gardening, cooking, etc. and in turn had a small volunteer room, shared family meals, and got to know a bit of life in Toscana - Saluti dall'Arkansas!

Good morning 🌄. It's great that Dave has a personal tour of your town & coastline. The sea swim is looking so invigorating. The colour of the water is amazing. I find it fascinating how so much vegetation can cling to the rocks and grow. So many rocks & boulders. The surf is so noisy. Extraordinary array of marvellous looking food. Pity we can't taste it. Blue Sky Carlo is a friendly and a terrific guide. How interesting -a tutorial in Olive Grove management. Aren't you ever happy that in Tuscany the olive trees are shorter ! There's nothing like land with room to grow. ! Views on your way to the hike with Dave are stunning . The wildflowers in the Forest are beautiful. Great looking stuff which which to build scrumptious sandwiches. Naples view is panoramic. As usual the footage is creatively exposed. Thank you. Ciao Bella.

This has brought a smile to my face as I was in Positano 2 weeks ago and had a lovely meal at the Saraceno D'oro restaurant. We travelled from Vietro on the Water taxi, so got a good look at the coast. I can vouch for the weather - it was amazing. Absolutely loved it. Only downside were the crowds and I know we were part of that problem, but there it is!

I meant to tell you this earlier but I forgot. If you will need Olive processing equipment next year, it might be advantageous to start searching at the end of this years Olive season? Usually at the end of the season, people look to sell things because they want something newer or they just don’t want to store the equipment over the winter and summer. You may find a great deal on nets, sorters and a press. I have a huge olive tree here in Florida but since we really don’t have a cold winter, the tree never blossoms. Oh well, as I prune it every year, I have been saving the wood and hope to make cutting boards and serving trays from the olive wood. Good Luck and much love to you guys. ❤❤❤

It is lovely to see that you still have sunshine. We had warm weather in early October but now the rain and gloom have started. We may get a reprieve before we settle down to winter....am hoping! (Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.)

My sister just returned from her first vacation in Italy. She sent me photos in real time of Positano in the distance from the boat. Even though your videos capture the essence of Positano. When she FaceTimed me giddy with excitement I loved it. Thank you Nicky and Carlo I was able to recommend the ceramic shop and other locations that you frequent and feature❤❤❤. FYI she attended a Italian cooking class in Tuscany

We now know that Nikie and Carlo will have an olive grove of their own to tend to in the future. Little by little hopefull we learn more about their new acquisition. Dave's Italian lessons were received by many of Nikie's viewers so thanks Dave. Thanks for taking us on your boat ride and on that beautiful hike. Stunning views.

Another stunning video, the views are just spectacular, love them! I look forward to your video every week and feel so relaxed after - thank you! Little Holly gets me every time with her little nose resting on Indie. I also admire how strong you all are and Carlo carrying the olives all the way up - it's surely keeping you both very fit and healthy, which is great! 🙂 See you next week!

I love the boat trips! So beautiful to watch the landscape from the seaside 💖 But why are you cutting such big olive branches? It hurts my soul that those olive trees are cut just to collect the olives. Thank you for another summer video from Amalfi Nicki and Carlo! Hope to be able to visit Italy soon 🙏 to extend the summer did not really have here in The Netherlands 🌷But I am afraid to fly with all these accidents with pilots who are getting heart attacks in the cockpit and strokes which is not told on mainstream media. So I wait a bit....but I am so looking forward to travel again!

Why cut the branches? Helps the trees to produce more fruit? Not a gardener,eh?

Razor clams. When I can get them (in Italy, our local Eurospin often has them - in the US, a little harder to find), they go straight on the grill, cook quick and then drizzle of olive oil and some chopped prezzemolo.

Hi Nicki And Carlo. I have been in Sicily since Sept 27th! I am having the Best time, even though I don’t speak the language. I am looking to find a place to retire. Might you know of special places and affordable. It is so expensive living in the States. Food as well as everything almost doubled! Scary ! Thanks for any suggestions! Hugs, ❤😁

Those long shells are called razor clams in England, Nicky, you sprinkle salt on the beach and they rise up. Hubby tells me they are called spots in Scotland. I remember collecting these on New Brighton beach with my dad!

So fun to be "tourists" in your local area! You always share such beautiful places. A trekking pole, or two, is such a help on uneven terrain and when going downhill. If I forget to bring mine, I really notice the difference!
