How We Season Cast Iron From Scratch | A Moose Left Her Mark On Our Truck!
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
In this video, we strip and re-season our new cast iron pan from scratch. This is a day long process but so worth it in the end! Of course, we also had to show you another moose sighting we had!
Hi, we are Emily and Matt, and welcome to A Glimpse of Alaska! In September 2022, we (along with our 8 month old puppy Aurora) made the nearly 5,000 mile drive from our home in Florida to our new home: Alaska. We created this channel to document and share our adventures in this wonderful state.
We appreciate each and every person who spent time out of their day to watch this video! If you enjoyed this video, please consider liking and subscribing to our channel. We will be continuing to document all of our Alaskan adventures including hiking, fishing, gardening, and so much more!
If you would like to donate any amount to us, to help us continue to create content, it would be greatly appreciated! You can do so here: www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted...

Love the new hair doo🤣
Thanks guys, that was real informative. I might have done my cast iron wrong. lol I will have to do the egg test. New subscriber here. Cheers!
Cool moose story.
I usually use bacon grease to season my cast iron. Thanks for the video.
I use Lodge most of the time and I've never sanded it down to season it. I do like your channel and I'm a subscriber,

To each their own! There’s certainly more than one way to do it. Cast iron is a beautiful thing! 😊
That moose was doing moose-y art😘
Greetings from Fort Lauderdale, Florida! Wow, that's a long process to season a cast iron, but I can see is worth it. Like they say, "you are never too old to learn something new" 👍😊 (that was weird what that moose was doing) Take care, dear hearts, be safe!! God bless you both!

I think yall would enjoy Cowboy Kent Rollins. His KZread channel has a lot of great cast iron videos (just do a search on his channel for a list), along with his great cooking vids. This might be controversial with some, but I agree with Rollins about never using metal utensils with cast iron pans....unless you don't mind scraping the seasoning.

The moose licked your truck to get the road salt that was in the dirt of your truck.
What a great video! I have cast iron pans and they always stick despite me seasoning them but I’ve never done them like you did! Well now I know what to do! Thank you!

@@AGlimpseOfAlaska Have you mentioned in your videos what type of field you and Matt are in?
If you don't want a rough cast Lodge pan then buy vintage. Goodwill or any thrift store will carry them. Just for the comment section...don't sand your pans. New Lodge cast iron is one thing but any vintage pan you will ruin if you sand it.

That is very good advice, thank you! 😀
Revelation 1:16-17 King James Version 16 And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength. 17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: GODS BLESSINGS OVER YOU !
