The Allison B500 electronic control system consist of six major components connected by a wiring harness (look for broken, chewed wires) These components are the electronic control unit vehicle interface module both located in the number one baggage compartment and electronic accelerator pedal three speed sensors shift selector and control valve module. Speed sensors, pressure switch, shift selector, transmit information to the ECU that control solenoids which in turn control shift function. ^^^ consequently - the transmission fluid level MUST be accurately maintained. Start by completely disconnecting bus batteries via knife switch - wait at least 10 minutes. Reconnect batteries, start and warm motor AND transmission (if possible, drive it). MANUALLY CHECK the transmission fluid level hot, on a flat level surface, ENGINE RUNNING, BRAKES APPLIED, >>>> TRANSMISSION in DRIVE

We can focus on the storm OR we can choose to focus on the beauty that exists in spite of it. Those flamingo socks!!! My friend group has a white elephant AND dirty Santa party every year and there is this hideous, 9 foot tall flamingo that gets brought back EVERY year that NO ONE wants and it's become the infamous symbol of our celebration. Okay, answers: #1 spending time with people (serving or helping them or alongside them); being in beautiful natural spaces (especially old trees - OMG!!!); completing projects on my home #2 the best decision I made was to travel overseas to serve people who are living their day to day lives in extremely difficult circumstances (yes, there are people going through a lot anywhere, but this was pretty extreme and it was a joy and honor to be able to serve and love on them) #3 I would have been more open to the changes that took place in me, rather than trying to hold on to who I was in the past because of things I believed about myself or others that just weren't true (Ahhh, hindsight!) #4 I literally was JUST telling someone how great 2023 was and that I'm a little sad to see it go, even though I know good things are coming in 2024. For me, I think standing on the shore of the Black Sea with beautiful people that I love surrounded by MASSIVE trees of all varieties was a moment I could stay in forever. The only thing I would change is that I would want my children to share the moment with me, but it was like time and all the worries of the world just melted away, and there was just us and the sea. I also had a child graduate university, and the moment when they called her name and she was walking across the stage, shaking the hands of the deans and directors of her program filled with confidence in what she had just accomplished -- seeing that emotion on her face was a landmark moment as a parent. #5 go back to school with full confidence that I have found the course of study that is absolutely, 1000% in line with who I am and what I want from and to give to life #6 I have a children's book that I'd like to develop into a series that's been sitting on a WAY back burner and I really feel like it's time to pull it back to the front and work to get it published. Great questions!! I SO wish I had been able to join you for the live chat. I was looking forward to "meeting" you, but eventually I feel that we will. I hope you were/are able to get some beautiful, sunny beach days, but the waves were just beautiful with the wind pushing them so high onto the shore. Fingers crossed for speedy resolution with the transmission and that it's not too, terribly expensive. At least you have a beautiful spot to wait it out. Have a wonderful relaxing time on the beach and don’t even think about your bus problem for the week. When the New Year comes you will have a clear mind and new ideas and energy to deal with it. That is my experience with huge insoluble problems. I have to let my creative mind do its work without me pushing it. So take a holiday in your lovely place. I too find Christmas a difficult time. Good for you to have a quiet holiday season together. I started a grownup dollhouse last year as a project with my 93 year old mother and my husband and this year I hope to do more work on it. To get the main rooms finished anyway. It was something I loved as a kid and for many years after and stopped when I moved to Mexico. It helped me deal with my mother’s demands last year as she became less able to manage her own life and gave us a project to do together. Happy travels in the year ahead

Great video and I loved the socks! Three things that brought me energy in 2023, friends, traveling, and finally after 9 years getting the financial success we have been seeking for our business!! One moment I'd love to do again is Trey's bus build! That was an amazing experience of the universe bringing everything together at the perfect moment! What would I change? I really can't think of anything I'd do differently because I feel so blessed to be living this life of so much abundance and grateful to have friends like you both!

Merry Christmas ya all. Fixing my Schooley brings me energy. Doing Bus yoga also. After 23 years pf bus life I've learned to not get bummed out when She breaks down. Its been one thing after another for a couple years. I like that Im already home when it happens. Bell Bell always breaks down in the right spot. I love your video's. You will figure this out. Did you check your oil in the transmission? Was it changed recently and if so was it the proper type? HD ATF. Did you check all the lines running to the transmission? Maybe reach out to the RV Bus Conversion Group. The Prevost Group has some great people who know everything like Gil Johnson. Is it the Allison B500? I love my bus except for the increase maintenance. When not driven always then something pops up.

Allison had a recall of the TCM module from the mid 2000's-Don't know what year you have but if it is mid 2000's notify them for more info .It might fix your problem--good luck !!!

Looks at "the road" (forward), checks left side mirror ("rear view or road view") and finally looks at the floor (down) ....the classic and very professional, "what's wrong with her?" or "talk to me". Some real Han Solo level "fix it man", do-it-yourself repair style gestures.

I hope you get that shifting problem fixed. Soon and cheap. And yes it definitely pays off in the long run having a diagnostic reader or you just plug it in and you can use it as a another way of seeing how the bus is running down the road . I know they might be expensive but it will take some of the guesswork out of troubleshooting stuff

Does it only act up when it gets hot ? Does it have a trans cooler and if so does it have an electric fan ?

Yes, it’s always the same. Only happens if we drive for about over 2 hrs and then stop and idle (for diesel or pee break). If we do a short drive and stop and idle it’s fine. If we don’t stop and keep driving, it’s fine. No idea about the fan.

@Rehabit8 can you look to see if it has one , crawl under the bus and follow the Trans lines and see if it goes into a cooler before it goes into the radiator

Be like Trump, buy a new transmission...Stop crying and get a good job or think outside the box, I mean border to cross and come back in as a person looking for a better life...yea a Dreamer, they will give 250k, a free home and education...good luck and MC or Happy Holiday!
