How We Heat our House at -64°C/-83°F in Yakutia, Siberia
In rural villages of Yakutia, where temperatures can reach extreme lows, heating homes is a crucial necessity. In this video, we'll show how we stay warm and safe, even when it's -64°C outside.

My papaw was one of the last people in the eastern Kentucky/western Virgina regions who could work and read an analog gas well. It was crucial to be careful to get it right in the winter, because if you introduced water condensation into a pipe, you could cause half a mountain of people to lose their heat. He was often embarrassed by only finishing high school, and I would repeatedly point out the amount of math and geology he had to know to get his job right. None of us could ever.

@@KiunB Wow, you are too0o beautiful!!!! whomever see you shall believe that God is real and whenever I see you I am always in a dream. and when we wake up we all will realize that all this life was nothing but a dream and that only God is whats true and real. I dont know how can atheists believe that such a very attractive beauty queen like you came from monkeys hahaha 😄. There was a teacher whom didn't believe in the existence of God, He said to his students do you see God?, the students replied no we don't see God so the teacher said if you don't see God it means there is no God, then a smart student stood up and said to the other students hey guys do you see the teachers brain? then the students replied no we don't see the teachers brain, the student then said then the teacher is crazy he got no brain :0) God initiated everything, and he redo too, and it is evident. one God for all of us, all the universe shows unity with diversity, there are different things different creatures and different materials but are all made of particles and atoms. This life is temporary, while the next is forever, eternal, either in paradise, or in Hell fire! so lets all try to be good humans in life & not to be bad, and be kind & try to obey God through following his words and commands and following his great final messenger to humanity, and the true rightly successors of his final and last messenger whom are an extension of the messenger of God and of his light.

Simply amazing, as always ^^
You make fantastic videos. Here in the US some people put little fans on top of the wood stoves. The fans are powered by the stove’s heat and are used to circulate warm air.

Fans only work with iron stoves(fire box). This is not effective with large brick ones.
Keep up the good Sergey. My Town of Shelbyville, Missouri in USA, reached -13 below zero F. My furnace quit, so I had to drive 54 miles for new parts. So, I understand the importance of maintaining heating equipment. John in Shelbyville, Missouri. USA
Nice to see. Thank you for sharing!
It's amazing that such a rural village has central heating. Only the densest city's in America, such as NY, have centralized steam heating systems. They are extremely inefficient and costly, but they work.

So do some northern tier locations in America. Minot AFB ND, and many other bases, have Central Heating Plants; no longer fired by coal but natural gas.

Well done thumbs up. Thanks. When I was younger, very younger, about 50 years ago, I wanted to live in a place like Yakutia. Not anymore. I'm 78 and afraid to live in such harsh conditions.
Thank you for sharing this, realy amazing to live under this conditions !

Thank you Kiun for your insights. Just another day at work I guess. People learn to adapt or else they move somewhere else where it is possible to do that.

When it's almost 12 degrees Celsius (53 degrees Fahrenheit) for me, it's -50 Celsius for you in Yakutia, wow. And btw everybody here thinks it's cold today. It's normally warmer, it's normally in the 60s Fahrenheit in March.
😂 meanwhile, it’s winter in south Texas and people are freaking out because tonight it make it down to 6°C. 😂
Great video, I just love watching it! Thank you!
A part of me would love to be there right now. It just seems incredibly quiet and peaceful.
Love it’s form Malaysia 🇧🇩🇲🇾
You don't get bored in a village like that. There's no time to lie around and do nothing.
That was so interesting; and Kiun B, your English is so beautiful! Thank you for a great video.
Wood burning stoves for heating the house is amazing! My grandparents had one for their house but had to remove it because the insurance companies raise insurance rates so much that it's not cost effective to use wood instead of gas.
Love everything about your people and culture. I just pray these great men weren't mobilized and separated from their families to fight I'm this ridiculous war.
I really enjoy watching the videos. I was wondering if the rural areas have access to any forms of healthcare facilities?

Really depends on the scope. Even smallest villages have small "hospitals" for physician visits and basic diagnostics. For complex surgeries people usually travel to bigger cities. In case of emergency people get transported from small villages to city hospital by helicopter.
i love your series. i wish to visit someday!
Very interesting and impressive. God bless Sergi.
Maintaining an indoor temperature of 25 degrees, when it is so cold outside, is AMAZING. My poorly insulated flat in the UK is regularly between 3 and 10 degrees at this time of year 🥶

I wonder what the future of heating would look like in Yakutia if (when?) decarbonization happens. The only thing I can think of would be electric resistive heating with wood as an emergency backup, because it's not like you can use even the best heat pump when it's 50 below zero.

They're in Russia not California, so possibly never. Coal and wood provide fast, reliable heat. Even if homes switched to electric heat, the power plant would likely use coal or maybe natural gas to generate it. Distributed heating systems, even one as seemingly outdated as theirs, is already very efficient. Upgrading it to use natural gas would be a good middle ground with coal as backup.

Get out of here with your “decarbonization” nonsense. How do you think the electricity is generated dummy? You people are unreal. It’s -65 degrees outside and you’re worried about people burning wood to stay warm? You probably live on the coast of California where it’s 72 degrees F year round. Smh. I wish u people would go away.

And carbondioxid from wood is "recycable" if you or nature plant new trees to bind the same amount. Coal though, not. On the other hand very few people live in these areas (compared to the whole globe) so they could problably get some "dispensation".
