I would disagree, SHOW DON'T TELL would be my advice, too much narration, very little actual engaging footage for the viewer
Jenn 🫶🏽 the artistry and love you put into your videos, wow! It’s so inspiring. Thanks for sharing lil snippets and reflections from your trip ✨

Awww thank you, Natalie! xx
This made me so emotional, I’m crying rn. You’re such a wonderful storyteller, and it is true because of the way you moved myself and I’m sure many others. “When your young all you wanna do is grow up as fast as you can. But once your an adult you start chasing moments that make you feel young again.” Never heard truer words than this, you said it best Jenn. I wish I had more time with my grand folks, but time is truly a thief andthe chance to spend such precious moments when you can with family should be grabbed with every oppurtunity. Thank you for sharing your trip with us. 💜
When I studied abroad in South Korea for a year, I was placed in a very small town similar to that of Goseong (고성). The town I lived in is named Haman (함안). When I learned I would be placed here and the other exchange students would live in larger towns such as Changwon (창원), Gimhae (김해), and Busan (부산), I was sad. Sad that I wouldn't experience city life or have experiences that the other exchange students would. But instead - I ended up having a greater experience than any of them! I traveled to surrounding cities, went strawberry and watermelon picking with my host parents, developed close relationships with my classmates and neighbors in town, went to amusement parks, museums, and so much more. This experience taught me that less really is more and that places such as Goseong (고성) and Haman (함안) are just as amazing as any big city. I'm glad you got to experience the best of both world in Korea, welcome back 😊💗

Absolutelyyy! There's so much charm and character in these small towns. Thank you for sharing!
This was such an immersive experience. What a fabulous video, Jenn! And as hundreds have pointed out already, the storytelling is par excellence.

It’s been 20 years since my dad visited Mexico, and I just visited after letting 10 years passby too. I wonder what it could be like when we visit together… it’s weird i’m more familiar with his home country than he is, yet he’ll always know it more than I can. This is such a beautiful montage of moments and words!

Aww that would be so incredible if you went back together 😭❤️
This made me emotional for some reason. Thank you for sharing this with us Jen and I’m glad you got to visit your family in Korea with your parents. This video makes me want to go on a trip with my parents, back to their hometown and to really spend more time with them. A beautiful and great video as always!
My dream is to visit Korea with my family. Growing up Korean American, I wasn’t taught the language and didn’t get the chance to bond with any Korean relatives, I feel like I was cheated out of a family. Watching this made me smile, I’m so happy you were able to have this experience, I pray one day I will to.
젠 언니 한국어할때 너무 좋아ㅠㅠㅠㅠ So glad you had a lovely time ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
It made me tear up the part where you talked about love overcoming language barriers. I do the same-I speak in the simplest terms until they understand me. And then we all laugh together :)

I think you are gradually mastering the art of story telling using concepts, this is truly beautiful. I struggle too with family but this was like a fresh breath if air.
I always love how you tell your stories! Korea is definitely on my bucketlist 😍

Your storytelling is the best. It always has me in tears 😭 I’m glad you had a healing trip in Korea 🥰
Man this video really packed such an emotional journey and storytelling arc in just a little over 10 minutes! The writing and editing was so beautiful and raw at the same time. Love seeing your content evolve so brilliantly over the years 💕
Your editing and the story telling is always at the point. I love it so much.
I love love how you’ve grown as a story teller! This is so inspiring to watch!
This video made me so emotional, especially the part about your dad. I can wholeheartedly relate to that part, my relationship with my dad is so whole and filled with great talks and wisdom. So thankful. And thanks for this video I really need a good cry today. :)
This was so beautiful and such a treat for the eyes to watch :) I love how you mentioned repetition and it’s something I’ve been struggling with recently so it was definitely a nice reminder to find beauty and peace within the mundane that can still be as beautiful and meaningful as the adventures
I loved EVERYTHING...the way you told your story, the editing! I'm so glad you got to connect to your roots in Korea!
The level of storytelling 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽 simply amazing. The edits on this video are actually perfect

Aww thank you, Ellie! xx
Top notch storytelling and creative editing mixed with heartfelt words and beautiful views… really nobody does it like Jenn and im sooo grateful for the efforts 💞
This was beautiful, Jenn! I related a lot to what you shared as I just got back from a Vietnam family trip. I really admire your outlook on avoiding conflict with your family and instead soaking in the precious moments and experiences with them. Since I don't live near my family anymore, I struggled with re-living past hurts and getting triggered by them. I wish I had taken more time to mentally prepare and be intentional with my interactions than resort to being reactive. This vlog hit me deeper than I had anticipated. I always leave your videos feeling inspired and wanting to be a better person for myself and for my family. So thank you for sharing your personal journey with us even when it feels raw and vulnerable. Truly appreciate you and your channel.
Being a subscriber for almost 8 years, this is for sure one of my favorite videos of yours, Jenn!! 💕
Yet again another video of yours that makes me tear up bc your ability to tell your story is so intimate. I love your take on “love beating language barriers”. It can be really uncomfortable to try to engage, but I’m so happy that you did. Often times we hear that we’re not (insert ethnicity/culture) enough based on how much of the language we can speak and it can be so discouraging. Instead, I think it’s just as important to make effort or time to spend with our family members of all generations, listening, and remembering their stories. You look so happy and fulfilled, Jenn! 🥹
This made me cry happy tears,I felt all the emotions with you as I also struggle with the language barrier but feel deeply connected at the same time to my family that lives far away in China & Taiwan. You have a real talent for expressing yourself and being vulnerable Jen!❤
the way this was beautifully filmed and narrated is heartwarming. it felt like you took me to korea and its countryside
omg this video edit so well and tells such a detail story of your time in Korea with your family. Glad you enjoy family time. I feel family time is very important in maintaining health relationship.
this brought tears to my eyes…. you’re an excellent story teller, Jenn ❤
Just turned 30, and I hope to enjoy my thirties and savour each moment as you have learned to Jenn. You're so inspiring!
Thank you Jenn for thoughtfully sharing these intimate moments in your life - for being a beacon of light and love to all of us. Been following you since the very beginning of clothesencounters and seeing you evolve (as I evolve) has been such a blessing. Keep being you! Love you always x
Jenn, your storytelling is just excellent - this video just flows and lets your earnestness shine!
what an absolutely beautiful video. i really adore the direction your content has taken the past couple of years - it resonates and inspires more than ever
i love seeing this kind of content as a fellow korean-american woman. it’s so relatable and healing for me. thank you jenn. ❤️
This was amazing! The editing was perfect
This video is a perfect example of why I love to watch your content! It‘ so peaceful, the storytelling and edits are great, you give such great inside in your thoughts.. loved it, thank you!
This is so beautiful! The story, the scenery, the sentiment-- made me tear up 🥹😍
Beautifully captured and narrated! Thank you for this ❤️
this video made me cry the whole time. it reminded me a lot of my family and how i want to heal our relationship even more as i get older so beautiful :´) thank u for this
This video really resonates with me. I’m currently on a trip with my parents to their home town in Vietnam. We visited my grandparent’s graves, went to family gatherings and spent a lot of time together and everything you felt on your trip I’ve felt too 😊
the closing speech makes me tears up a little, jenn you are one hell of a writer
Was smiling at the end of the video!! I could feel how good the trip was!!
this made me emotional, you have such a pure energy!! Love your storytelling, and it's beautiful in 🇰🇷
this made me tear up fr. thanks for this jenn!
This was so touching, Jenn! Thank you for sharing.
I simply love this !! Jenn's storytelling, filming and editing is authentic, heart-warming and carries you away 🥰 I just love the energy of your videos so much, they are so soothing !!
This was a very calm and happy video, but I got so emotional! The storytelling, and editing is so peaceful and sweet. I was really absorbed into your journey and loved that i got to see a piece of your experience. Thank you for always sharing your life and insight with us!
I love this! It’s been awhile since I’ve gone on vacay with my parents and it happened recently when we went to Japan together. A lot of what you talked about, I really resonated with so this was so relatable to watch 💖
Wow, Jenn, thank you for sharing this. It was moving and just incredible storytelling. So happy you got the chance to reconnect with your roots in Korea.
Thanks for sharing a piece of your life with us, Jenn! This made me emotional. ❤
That was beautiful ✨ thank you Jenn 🙏
So refreshing and presented beautifully. The edits were definitely on point. Thank you Jenn Im for sharing this to us. You made me value life and family more. Reconnections can be beautiful.
I love love love your videos, Jenn. I’m normally one of the silent watchers but I had to comment to say thank you for the amazing story telling, videography and your wise words. Your videos make me reflect on my own life and I feel incredibly blessed and inspired after watching them. We all use social media too much and in my opinion it often leaves us a little empty, jealous of others and generally unhappy (even though that’s hard to admit for most people). Your videos do the opposite to me and I’m smiling so much watching them! Thank you 😊
This video is sooo comforting and it’s like a good reminder for me to appreciate every little moment in my life and that my mundane life is a blessing 💗
This was so beautiful and touching, I can totally relate. My parents are from China and growing up I've also always had a tense relationship with them, still working on it now at 33 years old. I too hope to one day travel to their hometown with them and have a healing trip, like yours. Your videos are so incredibly beautiful to watch, and I was getting misty-eyed watching and listening to you. You've inspired me to venture beyond Seoul when I get to visit Korea for the first time (hopefully soon!) All my love to you and your loved ones!
i’m currently visiting korea and seeing my family for the first time in years - definitely related to this video :’) glad u had an amazing trip!
Your videos bring me so much comfort. I love your storytelling, editing style, and the learnings you share. Just wanted to say thank you! ❤
I don't know how you do this, but you always ending up having the most interesting, cinematic and engaging videos. I just love the effort you put in each and every video. I have been watching you ever since the beginning and never have a time, where I felt like I was bored. You're always so interesting and nice to watch, just like listening to an older sister
This is so good! Recently went to Vietnam for the first time as an adult and this video encapsulated all of the feelings I was feeling. Thank you for your sweet storytelling ❤
loved this so much, thank you for sharing!
Your creativity is unreal. The way you weaved in your family stories into the travel and what you are learning was amazing. Your aunt and uncle’s farm is a dream.
omg this video left such a warm, fuzzy feeling in my heart! as usual, great video jenn!!
Jenn, you did such a lovely job storytelling. Thank you for sharing with us!
Your calming & insightful videos are what keep me coming back to long form content Jenn! I found myself enjoying every footage and how good you are as a storyteller. Glad you had this beautiful trip✨
Beautifully narrated, as always jenn!!! 🥹🥹🥹
I’ve never watched a video more raw and genuine than yours. Thank you for allow us to see through your lens💕
You're just a great storyteller and I would never not be inspired after watching anything from you! Thank you so much!
Beautifully shot and produced. Felt like we are going through a family album. Thanks for sharing your story and beautiful new places like gweongju and goseong.
This was beautiful Jenn, like a visual story. I love how connected you feel to your family after this! So nice to see the trip through your lens 😊
Such a beautiful video Jenn, thank you !
Probably my favorite video of all time from you, Jenn! Really enjoyed your storytelling here ❤️❤️
Wow jenn. You killed it with this video. I just visited Shanghai as a 23 year old and felt exactly the same on this trip. I could relate so much to what you were feeling and experiencing. Thank you for encapsulating how I felt in this beautiful video ❤️
the Korean countryside is so beautiful and I rarely see people talk about it! I visited Yeong-wol and it was one of the best places I have ever been - I felt like I was in a Studio Ghibli movie! It was very easy to just take the bus there, even as a tourist who doesn't speak Korean
Beautiful editing and story telling! You are always so creative but this felt like another step up in how it was put together! I totally resonated with your feelings shared here. I just did a first solo trip without kids back to Taiwan to spend time with my family and it was so nice to connect with relatives and family without the chaos of my kids 😅. Our parents and relatives are getting older and the time spent together just gets more precious! ❤
What a wonderful, wholesome video Jenn.
Did not think this video would make me so emotional but here I am in tears lol this really resonated with me. I’m also first gen, understand the language better than I can speak it, and am at an age where im craving a more meaningful relationship with my parents and family in the homeland. So inspiring to see how fulfilling it was for you. Maybe it’s time I make a trip back home too 💜
What a beautiful story, seeing your family eating together around the table at the end was so touching. Glad you got to have this time together. Thanks for sharing!
Omg Jenn, what a beautiful video!😭 this is a prime example of why I looove long form content and hope it never goes away. Thank you for inspiring me to get more connected with my family!
this warmed my heart , my mom guilt swallows me ahead of any travel- this helped a ton xx
2 minutes in, and I'm in tears. Ah, I miss my parents so much! Thanks again for putting out the most inspiring video. I should call my parents and tell them I miss them and I love them.
This video is so beautiful! Literally started crying.
In love with how you’ve put this together, Jenn. Thank you for sharing this special trip with us! ❤
This has probably the most realistic Korean lifestyle shots of all the korean videos I have watched on yt. The family gathering, the food, that's the real life. Idk but it was nice to not see the big cities, but life outside of those cities. I live in Korea for 5 years now so I know what om talking about haha
What a beautiful snapshot of your time❤ thank you for sharing!
JENN, I am obsessed with your editing!!! Thank you so much for putting this mush effort for us to enjoy the video to the fullest😍
I LOVE this Jenn - so healing to watch people open up to their own families and mend some relationships that feel so distant and hard when we're second gen and didn't grow up with these family members we barely know, yet love. It's amazing what some quality time can do for us and returning to our roots
omg Jenn I discovered you in your clothesencounters era when I just started feeling a little confident communicating in English and now I'm 29 and only recently I started learning Korean by myself so watching your interactions with your 이모 and understanding some phrases felt so warm, rewarding and like I was just learning and growing with you! thank you for sharing this experience with us 😊
Love this long form content. I agree with the repetition part, it feels so rewarding whenever I go for a walk after being at my desk all day. So happy you got to connect to your roots and building memories with your parents as well.

Ahhh this was so beautiful! Rewatching!!!
Youre amazing Jen! Every word is so gripping and the edits were just 10/10
Thank you for sharing about your newly found relationship with your dad. That was so heartwarming. It's wonderful that you're prioritizing mending relationships with your family while you can. This vlog was absolutely perfect.
Such a heart warming video. Thank you, Jenn!
This are the type of videos that I enjoy the most watching at your channel ❤
