This made me so emotional, I’m crying rn. You’re such a wonderful storyteller, and it is true because of the way you moved myself and I’m sure many others. “When your young all you wanna do is grow up as fast as you can. But once your an adult you start chasing moments that make you feel young again.” Never heard truer words than this, you said it best Jenn. I wish I had more time with my grand folks, but time is truly a thief andthe chance to spend such precious moments when you can with family should be grabbed with every oppurtunity. Thank you for sharing your trip with us. 💜

When I studied abroad in South Korea for a year, I was placed in a very small town similar to that of Goseong (고성). The town I lived in is named Haman (함안). When I learned I would be placed here and the other exchange students would live in larger towns such as Changwon (창원), Gimhae (김해), and Busan (부산), I was sad. Sad that I wouldn't experience city life or have experiences that the other exchange students would. But instead - I ended up having a greater experience than any of them! I traveled to surrounding cities, went strawberry and watermelon picking with my host parents, developed close relationships with my classmates and neighbors in town, went to amusement parks, museums, and so much more. This experience taught me that less really is more and that places such as Goseong (고성) and Haman (함안) are just as amazing as any big city. I'm glad you got to experience the best of both world in Korea, welcome back 😊💗

It’s been 20 years since my dad visited Mexico, and I just visited after letting 10 years passby too. I wonder what it could be like when we visit together… it’s weird i’m more familiar with his home country than he is, yet he’ll always know it more than I can. This is such a beautiful montage of moments and words!

My dream is to visit Korea with my family. Growing up Korean American, I wasn’t taught the language and didn’t get the chance to bond with any Korean relatives, I feel like I was cheated out of a family. Watching this made me smile, I’m so happy you were able to have this experience, I pray one day I will to.

This was beautiful, Jenn! I related a lot to what you shared as I just got back from a Vietnam family trip. I really admire your outlook on avoiding conflict with your family and instead soaking in the precious moments and experiences with them. Since I don't live near my family anymore, I struggled with re-living past hurts and getting triggered by them. I wish I had taken more time to mentally prepare and be intentional with my interactions than resort to being reactive. This vlog hit me deeper than I had anticipated. I always leave your videos feeling inspired and wanting to be a better person for myself and for my family. So thank you for sharing your personal journey with us even when it feels raw and vulnerable. Truly appreciate you and your channel.

Yet again another video of yours that makes me tear up bc your ability to tell your story is so intimate. I love your take on “love beating language barriers”. It can be really uncomfortable to try to engage, but I’m so happy that you did. Often times we hear that we’re not (insert ethnicity/culture) enough based on how much of the language we can speak and it can be so discouraging. Instead, I think it’s just as important to make effort or time to spend with our family members of all generations, listening, and remembering their stories. You look so happy and fulfilled, Jenn! 🥹

Your videos make me reflect on my own life and I feel incredibly blessed and inspired after watching them. We all use social media too much and in my opinion it often leaves us a little empty, jealous of others and generally unhappy (even though that’s hard to admit for most people).
