I liked what Jenn said about 'radically accepting the current version of yourself.' Being in academia, I feel that the inner voice of 'not good enough' is stronger than the criticism from others who claim that our work is inadequate. It is difficult for us to accept compliments, but we tend to readily believe the weaknesses pointed out by others. I suppose we need to adopt a 'radical' approach to affirming ourselves.😆

I’m sitting here washing dishes while watching Jenn and smiling like an idiot 😂 This is so much better than “new haul” or “unboxing, look what I bought!”. Very tired of those superficial videos, I gain nothing from those videos. But Jenn’s videos always inspire me in some way ❤ The sibling thing is a fantasy. My uncle doesn’t do a thing taking care of my grandparents, it’s always my mother. I’ve heard similar stories from others, some people grow up not caring about the parents 🤷🏻‍♀️ don’t let “be taken care of by my kids later” be the reason to have more kids.

as a person who is the oldest of 3 siblings (2 girls 1 boy), i personally enjoy having siblings. yes, we fight every once in a while and we definitely weren’t best friends as children, but i can say now that they are my rock and i wouldn’t have it any other way. for my friends who are only children, i’ve found that they grew up very spoiled and lacked a lot of “sharing is caring” type lessons that can be learned easily with siblings. this is my two cents on having more than one kid! of course, to each their own. :)

I have a six month old and it has been so tough, but at times rewarding. However, I can’t imagine doing this again for the same reasons you outlined, more attention, better for travel, more $$ to devote to his childcare. I feel pretty one and done, but let’s see whether we both change our minds down the road

This was a nice talk! Love the cozy look of your home. Light wood and white, marble kitchen... I would like to have my own place soon and just bloom into the best version of me, in an environment that fits my aesthetic and love of a clean, airy, luminous space to call home. But in the meantime, I unconditionally accept myself and my life, which is great in its own way. I am grateful for my freedom, the time and space I have to grow and learn and improve. Anything I want is possible for me at this point and I intend to go out into the world open to finding my true love, a great, loving partner to have a lasting, secure, healthy, happy relationship with, move somewhere new and better together and just enjoy this miracle we call life. Thanks Jenn Im for inspiring me to do that, your relationship and cozy home life is a great example of what I want.

Hi Jen! Can Ben shares why he tapes his mouth during sleep? ( Is it to encourage breathing through nose?) Very curious as I'm trying to get myself to breath properly during sleep too - does it affect his sleep quality / breathing in case his nose got a bit blocked at night? Would be great to hear!!

He probably breathes through his mouth while sleeping. That can deform your jaw and cause health complications. As he tapes his mouth shut, he is forced to breathe through his nose.

I'm usually not commenting your videos (or any for the matter hahaha). I don't think I'd be where I am in life right now without my sister. Every only child I met is not happy to be the only child so I'm surprised you got good echo from it. Of course, you guys do whatever makes you happy, it's just me sharing my feelings.

I know everyone’s experience will be different, but as an only child, I felt (and still feel) lonely as a kid; you really learn how to entertain yourself at home (a pro and a con). It was “easier” to learn respect towards your elders because the majority of people you talked to were adults, but in my experience, it stunted my learning on how to connect with people my own age. Yes you are given more attention, but you miss the interactions. No pressure to have more kids though, you deserve to feel ready (and not ready) at your own pace ❤

Honestly, I hate being an only child. I’ve always longed for a sibling relationship and felt like holidays were really lonely. It wasn’t always fun being surrounded by adults and having my parents sole attention. My husband has one sibling and they are not having children, so now I’m also never going to be an aunt and my children won’t have any cousins. There are definitely some pros, but for me the cons outweighed them.
