He was world-class. But he wasnt the best they ever had. Cantona, best, rooney. They were all different but atleast as good.

He was an icon and a popular player at the time, too much competition for the ballon dor.

One of the best ive ever seen. Even in real madrid he was wow!

He was the one of the best at his era. It was a privalage to watch him.

Ruud Van Nistelrooy is one of the best strikers ever. He was playing to the greatest teams of Europe (RMAD, MUTD) in his career. Very very great football player.

I remember when RMA signed him I was pretty new to football and I’d never seen him play for United. I remember hearing how lethal he was but even then I was skeptical because of the fact that he was 30 years old, needless to say I was in AWE of this man during that 06/07 season, 25 goals in La Liga(pichichi winner) 33 in comps, and all while playing in a VERY poor Real Madrid team that really lacked service to their attackers. While his time in La Liga wasn’t that long, BOTH La Liga titles Madrid win his first 2 seasons were because of him, if it weren’t the severity of the injuries he picked, no doubt in my mind he would have dominated till his retirement. To this day I’ve never seen a striker be so lethal, if you gave RVN a SNIFF of a chance, that ball was going in.

Injuries affected RVN and it didn't allow his career to last longer. His goals to game ratio was incredible.

Haaland is the new Nistelrooy. It is an honor being able to see both play.

I'm not sure who's arguing with you but they are wrong. The big question at the time was who was better, Ruud or Henry. Nowadays it seems like they aren't even thought of in the same bracket. Fair play, Henry was the more complete player, but when finishing Ruud is peerless. Henry would have disrupted Man Utd's style, Ruud was perfect for that team. Henry could have gone on the wing.

@andrewcarson5850 You probably didn’t watch enough football then Ruud is got to be one of the greatest finishers of all time definitely top 3 And I’m not shy to say he could top that list as the greatest finisher of all times Ruud have the scariest score per chance i have ever seen when he was signed with man United for 3 consecutive seasons If iirc it was 94% 90% 88% Something like Do you comprehend what this means ? Out of 100 chance he would score 94 of them in his first season with man United Henry was complete striker from passing to running to skill But in terms of finishing capability ruud was better Have ruud played in today era That normally played 4-3-3 How good he could have been having this type of support up front

Played for one of the most dominant domestic sides ever in bayern. Still disgusting the numbers he put up tho.

Had to trim out a bit of the video at 7:00 due to issues with copyright, I just mentioned that he moved to real Madrid and was top scorer of la liga in that time

I had a date once in a restaurant. Just a nice family restaurant in the forest were we eat pancakes in the netherlands. After sitting there for about 15 minutes all of a sudden RVN walked in with his family. I never realised how tall he really is.

Good point. He used to stand offside at freekicks before the ball was hit then move right on the edge of the defender before the ball was hit

Really interesting stats. Goals per minute on the pitch is the best stat for strikers - well done. I never realised how prolific RVN was, but he was a great poacher and made a load of unexpected goals, where you don't realise he's going to shoot there.

My first football jersey was a Man Utd Vodafone jersey with Nistelrooys name in the back... This guy and his goals single handedly created a generation of Man United fans.

One of the most funny and intriguing thing from this video is the intro: "In 1976 a boy was born..." The exactly same day another Dutch legend was born, Patrick Kluivert. But their career was exactly the opposite. Kluivert was the magical kid from a very young age. Remember, he was only 18 when he scored the winning goal in the CL final 1995 against AC Milan. At the same time Kanu was also playing for Ajax and he had the same age. And let's not forget about El Fenômeno, the real Ronaldo. Playing for PSV Eindhoven that same period and once again, only 18. Just mind-blowing if I look back on that phase of my teenager life in NL But the career of Ruud van Nistelrooy was totally the opposite. Starting from the bottom to the absolute top. Probably the best goal scorer ever in Dutch football history Thanks to all these legends and the memories they gave me and many others 🙏

RvN is the most lethal striker of 2001 - 2007. Nobody comes close to him as a pure out out striker. Fox in the box, penalty king.

The guy was a Rudd awakening whenever he faced opposition clubs.

Writing Rudd and pronouncing Goed in the first minute :D. Spending many hours in making a nice video, but spending some seconds for just having the name right would have made it much better.

Do one for the Phantoms ROY MAKAAY, there's too many legends that go unnoticed and have played for small clubs but have made it hard for big teams. Continue on with the good work, there's work to be done but it's a work in progress You have Falcao and halland 😂😂 might as well give credit to greater legends of before! I love your videos mate I really do but the way you grade players is bad. I mean Ibra so low, he is still one of the best out there. I totally think that people dont need the point system to evaluate somebody your video alone with the history of someone's career is enough to get the value he needs. Keep on the good job on videos! He was excellent like all the Dutch forwards
