I'm a Liverpool fan, and even I have to admit this guy was the best crosser I have ever seen and one hell of a player, his football ability was strangely surpassed by his ability to make money and market himself , so many kids today have no idea how brilliant he was. Credit where its due, this dude was the best crosser in my lifetime

Not sure if you can ever have a Mr. England like you can have a Mr. Arsenal or Mr. Chelsea but if there were one then Beckham would have to be my pick. When everyone was giving him shit, when people were giving him abuse, disgusting people hanging effigies he kept going, kept playing for his country and giving his all. He deserved so much more with the national team.

Today I am on the verge of real tears at what Arsenal has become and what they have done to such a phenomenal player. At a time when he needs playing time the most; to vindicate himself in the face of the persecution he has faced from his home country and many around the world in spite of his World Champion status! One day the world will truly comprehend what a tragedy is occurring now at Arsenal and I will love them through this time and forever more. I know there are better days at our door. I only mention Nicky Butt, as it is an great omission from the truth as to the success of Manchester United. Other than that, a great documentary series highlighting the career’s of often unique & certainly influential players. I have subscribed to the channel & often watch the episodes 3, 4 & 5 times. Great work, thanks for making this video. It's needed because while the world seems to recognise DB's standing as a footballer, he's under valued on home shores. He is what we call a dandy. Sadly there is a culture of pecking at those who like to 'show off'. So for some, no matter what level his achievements reach as a human and a footballer, he will always be looked upon with derision`

Nice video man. I see a lot of complaints on the comments, but I feel most are really misguided, and those calling you biased because you ranked this player above their own favorites are surely missing the irony there. Anyway, nice work. I think it makes sense for him to be above players like Kaka or Baggio, even if they were 'more talented' which is a really subjective concept to begin with, but Baggio never won a UCL, and Kaka sadly had like 5 good seasons and then the injuries completely destroyed him, and I use these examples because those are 2 of my absolute favorite players ever. Ranking players, artists or anything is always gonna be hard, so complaining about made up standards is absurd, so just keep doing what you do and have fun.

Perfect recommendation given Mason Mount just signed for Man UTD. Don't be fooled by the negativity surrounding mount from bitter Chelsea F.C fans. He was their player of the for two years. That itself is an indication of how good Mason Mount is. Yes, it isn't world class in scoring or providing picture perfect pass. However, he is a player that can help you control the state of the game through his energetic presence in midfield. Ball retention and pressure applied onto the opposition to force an error will play so well with Casemiro is going to be a delight to watch this upcoming season. Seeing Mount is the younger one, he would be providing much more of the pressure while Casemiro can pick out passes and or break down play.

Oof, I'm sorry, but although I really like your channel and agree with most of your videos, I really have a hard time putting Beckham higher than players like Van Basten, Ronaldinho, Baggio (these are all-time greats...I don't think Beckham can be considered such), Kakà, Henry, Del Piero, Roberto Carlos, or Figo, or even Ibra, Tevez, Lampard, Dani Alves, or Seedorf, Becks was an icon and a world class player, don't get me wrong, so I'm by no means calling him overrated, as he achieved a lot with Man U, and he was a wonderful passer, and an amazing crosser and free kick taker with a good shot on him as well, a solid touch, and a an exemplary work-rate, but he also had some limitations in terms of his lack of significant pace, tactical sense, or dribbling ability, and obviously he was also highly popular with the public, which is what largely contributed to his legendary status, and he wasn't as good as other top players of his generation; plus, although he was one of the better performers internationally, he didn't achieve a lot with England or as much as one would have expected of him after he joined Real, and he did choke in some key moments (although he was unfortunate at times), even though it wasn't only his fault.

I think his fame only hindered his status in football, also keep in mind I gave most of those players a higher technical rating than I gave Beckham, so yes i think some of them are far more talented than him. Also I was tougher with the ratings back then, some players need to be corrected like Ronaldinho and Figo.

@@DailyDoseOfFootballYT His icon status did limit his status as a player among pundits to an extent, but at the same time it made him extremely popular among the fans who rated him highly, and I thought that it also hindered his performances as well, especially at Real where he didn't win much in a stellar side, even though he did contribute to the league title when he convinced Capello to reinsert him into the starting XI. But in comparison, some of those players who are lower rated than him were the best in the world for a time, and some are even among the all-time greats...I don't think Beckham ever was the best in the world, even though he was a Ballon d'Or contender in 1999 for how decisive he was in Man U's treble victory, and although he is an icon and one of the best players of his generation, he isn't one of the best players ever in his position. Plus, he was predominatnly highly successful domestically with Man U back when the Premier League wasn't at the level it's at now, and Man U were by far the best team in the league and dominated the league. And lastly, he went to the MLS (even though he did have some stints on loan in Europe again where he did well) when he could have still played competitive European football; obviously this was a marketing move and it was very intelligent for his career and in helping the MLS to develop and become more popular in the US, but I feel like it is also a mark on his career and his longevity to an extent, not just considering his ability at his peak.

@@DailyDoseOfFootballYT Yes, that's true, and I said that it wasn't only his fault, but considering the teammates he had, and the fact that in the seasons before they had won a lot, I still feel like he could have done more at Real, and he was criticised in the media during that period. Plus although he was used in the centre as a deep lying playmaker at times at Man U because of his passing, I feel like it wasn't his best role he as he didn't pull the strings as much as his other teammates like Scholes or Keane, and because of that he wasn't quite as suited to Real's system and didn't fully adapt to that new central role. On top of that Becks would sometimes drift in and out of games playing out wide, so I feel like he did always have a massive impact on games in comparison to other players on this list, but then he would have a sudden direct impact with his crossing ability and assists, so he was still decisive. For me Beckham was creative and fairly skilful from a techncial standpoint, but he wasn't really a flashy, fancy, or flair type player, so I'd give him 7-8/10 max there. Playmaking, while he was an excellent passer and arguably the best crosser ever, and one of the best set piece specialists of all time, which made him an excellent assist provider from set pieces, I don't think he quite deserves a 10/10, and I would give him 9-10; for me he didn't have the vision to have influence on games in terms of dictating play, such as a genuine regista like Xavi or a genuine trequartista like Platini, which became quite apparent with England, as they lacked a pace setter in midfield despite having several world class midfielders. Dribbling and Speed and Physicality ratings are fair, as he was good technically but not amazing, but I also feel like considering that Baggio had a low speed and physicality rating because of his proneness to injury, limited work-rate, and slender physique, even though he was very explosive, although Beckham was a better athlete, he certainly wasn't particularly quick, so I feel like his rating is a bit high there as well. And possibly in terms of finishing as well, as he wasn't the most prolific player, but I suppose if we are talking about free kicks and long range shooting then an 8/10 is warranted. I can't argue with the Icon factor as he was very popular, but then again there were other players that have a better reputation among the all-time greats, despite maybe not being as well-known today. I think consistency and adaptability, mentality, and longevity are fair...maybe I might give him a point less in each of them as he did have some issues playing in different roles and struggled to handle the pressure with England and also would drift in and out of games at time, plus he left to play in the MLS when he still could have played in Europe until he retired.

No doubt about it Beckham was a fantastic player u don't play for United for nearly a decade who at the time were dominating the Premier league also in Europe were one of the best teams for all the time he played there but I wouldn't say he was an all time great' just lacked pace but a brilliant dead ball specialist.

The points list at the end is ridiculous...u haven’t got a clue. U awarded him 10 points for FLAIR!!! His couldn’t dribble at all, that’s why he crossed it as soon as he could!! He put him way above Thierry Henry for example, arguably the best striker in premier league history and he also won everything.

Liverpool won a Treble in 1984 European Cup, League Title and League Cup , Man U were NOT the first English team to do one, juts the first to win the FA , league and Euro Cup/CL On a wider note, there have been 4 English Trebles Liverpool in 01(FA, League Cup, UEFA Cup), and 84 (League Title, Euro Cup, League Cup) recently Man City who did the domestic treble (FA, League Cup, Prem) and Man U 99 (FA Prem CL) Liverpool were the first to do one, and have as many as the others combined. I will admit the 99 treble is an amazing achievement , and the first of that type, but not the first treble
