How Van Gogh Mixed His Paints: A Cornfield, with Cypresses
In this video I demonstrate how Vincent van Gogh mixed his paints using his 1889 painting 'A Cornfield, with Cypresses' as an example. I describe the palette he used based on historical research, and show the different ways he physically mixed paint. This video is part of a short series I have made to help you steal from Vincent - arguably the greatest master of colour. Don't forget to subscribe to see more from Great Artists Steal!

Great stuff! I enjoyed that thank you
Lovely colours. Great to see how they are mixed
This video is amazing and should get a bigger audience! And I wish you were my art teacher, you know how to explain in a simplified way.

I think most painters organisevtheir palette before beginning and then adjust accordingly as they paint.
Can you advise which technical bulletin references this pallet?
