Every component in the universe follows a circular motion which has no beginning and no end. For example, every day follows the cycle : morning - evening - night and the next morning ...etc. A grass germinates during rain - grows - withers in summer and it germinates again. Even the universe also follows the cyclic motion : evolution (Big Bang) - expansion - contraction (Big Crunch) and then again evolution .. etc. We, being a part of the univese have to follow the same cyclic motion in a different name ie. birth - growth - death and again birth ..etc.

Lord Bhuda also said the same kind wording when someone asked about the existance of the super natural power namely God. Sometime he told the existance of God yes and sometime not. It's upto oneself to try hard and seek through the existance of God is true or not!.....

I read somewhere that Buddha asked that people do not worship him n that the things he spoke about was provisional only ( meaning that it was good only for up to that time ) . Therefore if anyone should find something or a better way go with it. Be wise since you all are talking wisdom n do not worship Buddha. Otherwise u would be going against the advice of the one you are worshipping. Peace!

Reincarnations may occur but do not mean that they will lead to Nirvana as claimed. The LORD Jesus can allow that to happen since Jesus did not rebuke those who mentioned names of people like Elijah n others who had died when He asked them who He was. Again, the occurrence of reincarnation does mean that believing in them or in Hinduism or Buddhism will lead to eternal life. Only believing and worshipping Jesus Christ will because He knew that dying on the cross for us will lead us to eternal life n He had done that. At a certain moment the Holy Spirit had made me felt how unworthy I was of that act n i had burst into tears.

Not a few at all but the really vivid memories that are held for a long time are not exactly common. People tend to have just 'flashbacks' of their past lives. That's a good thing because otherwise they won't be able to function properly, as Sadhguru himself noted

We really don’t know, do we? In the area of belief in reincarnation, well that’s a persons personal experience. Even in the Bible, when Jesus asked his disciples, “ who do people say that I am?” There were answers of past Prophets of the Old Testament. I find it curious that Jesus did not rebuke the idea. If it were not a possibility you would think Jesus would have said something about that; but he didn’t. So for me, since I don’t really know, I just leave it to whichever the truth about it is. Belief will not make it real if it isn’t, as non belief will not make it false if it is a truth about life. So, when I leave this mortal body through death, no matter what I believe, will have no impact on the actual truth; the truth will take its proper course either way. I respect the differing beliefs all people have, it’s not a right or wrong thing; it’s just belief. Belief is not knowing, if it were then it wouldn’t be belief, it would just be knowing. Peace and love, and compassion to all.❤

I am curious if belief can turn into knowing at some point in time if it is something that has been historically accepted through out times. It is not a belief to say fire burns cos it is in our experience. but Rebirth is something that can never be experienced. As an Indian it is an accepted belief since ancient times among us that rebirth is certain and life and death is a cyclical process. It is so instilled in us, that talking about past lives is a normal part of conversation. Not just Indians but Asian as well consider the possibility of rebirth as fact. I for one, cast no doubt that I am reborn and all of my friends and family too have no doubt about their rebirth either. The fact that we strive so hard to live in such a way so that we can break free from this cycle itself is proof. My point is, belief is not knowing but for me and my near and dear ones Rebirth has become a known fact.

The rich tapestry of spiritual experience/enlightenment fills our world so beautifully! We all come from the same, “SOURCE “, for lack of an accurate description. I like to picture our creator as a great ocean, who puts forth himself as water droplets. The droplets are each and everyone’s life, slowly descending back to its source. It’s like if I were to take a drop of sea water and held it in the palm of my hand, and showed it to someone and told them I have the ocean in my hand, they would probably say, “no…that’s a drop of water “. I say, “ okay, let’s go to the ocean”. I throw the droplet back in, and I say to him, “show me exactly where that drop is”. He would probably say that he cannot; I say it’s right there….the ocean. The evidence is pretty good, so I‘d say belief in reincarnation is overall justified. Now when you talk about knowledge vs belief I think that’s a false dichotomy, because epistemological philosophy defines knowledge as justified true belief(s).

The dichotomy is not irritational but we often need both to successfully navigate through life. What we know is infinitesimal compared to the vast possibilities the universe harbors.

Sadhguru, most of this clip was demonstration of your belief, supplemeted with evidence, that reincarnation exists. So ? There are many other sources from which one can acquire such evidence. Hearing it from you it, becomes, to use your own term, not much more than entertainmemt. As a SadhGURU you should not merely hash over the reality of reincarnation, but should give advice HOW SPECIFICALLY to make use of one's recollection of a previous life in order to further ones spiritual development. THEN you will be a true guru without the risk of sounding like a con guru. Arjuna J.
