I must give you folks 100 out of 100 scores , you first removed all the dust and then polished it to remove more dust and rust and only then you painted very good job . I hope some other workshops and factories will watch this and learn from you

Although a cast iron one may do the job just as well, that small gear connected to the hand crank was machined from steel on the original MF and on an aftermarket one that I bought on eBay from a seller in India a couple years ago.

That, right there, is why these types of jobs will never come back home. We are too "scared" to do things like that anymore. Good job, but there will be differences in parts so one will not be able to be used in place of another. Pre WWII manufacturing.

Não derrete porque é feito de material refratário, os de grande capacidade que são transportados com guindastes são feitos de ferro e revestidos internamente com material refratário.
