Well technically Zelda does have the _Triforce_ inside her so for all we know she could have snatched Sonia's stone from Ganondorf's body without as much of a scratch courtesy of the Triforce's omnipotence. I guess we'll never know how things could have been (unless Nintendo reveals it).

Ah, yeah. She totally could have done that with all that malice coming out of him, especially after the hand slipped off his open wound. Come on, think properly here. If she tried that, malice would gave slammed into her and corrupted her or killed her instead of just destroying the master sword and costing link an arm.

Then again she has the _Triforce_ locked up INSIDE of her meaning it might have shielded her of Ganondorf's Gloom just as it did when it first sealed her inside a cocoon for 100 years as seen in Breath of the Wild. The Triforce been the combined essences of the 3 Golden Goddesses would be more than enough Light to counter Demise's/Ganondorf's Gloom meaning she might have managed to retrieve Sonia's stone had she known of the Triforce's omnipotence.
