You'll have 3 equations, 3 unknowns. Number of equations = number of unknowns (which is a, b, c) It means you can solve it. For the first equation: Transfer c to the other side of the equation, you'll have this form: c = a + b Then on the second equation, plug in the c = a + b on c, you'll have an equation with a and b unknowns. Then choose if you want a or b, then transfer it to the other side of the equation again, you'll have a = b etc, or b = a Then plug in a and c (or b and c ) on the 3rd equation, you'll solve for 1 unknown. Hope this helps!

@@stacyr4768 If it will become -c, divide both sides by negative 1. Transferring a variable on the other side doesn't necessarily mean that it will be the one you'll "move". You can just "isolate" variables on one side --this is the right sentence for the explanation above, my bad.

is the first equation always c or only if the number is 0? in my equation the numbers are -2=a(-1)^2+b(-1)+c will it be c is equal to -2

How did you get -1 from dividing a by -3, in a=a+b+3? How do you get to -1=a+b? Shouldn't you get -3a=a+b? Thanks!

What if the parabola is already given you have to other parts, for example. Write the equation of the parabola where the vertex is (-4,-6) and it passes through the points (-3,-8) and (-2,-6) how would i solve that
