What is your favorite Marvel movie? Who are 3 opponents that challenge/oppose the hero? Let us know! And remember that opponents don't have to be "villains". For example in the first Captain America movie, Cap would be the protagonist and three opponents would be Red Skull, Peggy Carter, and Bucky Barnes.

Dont know Marvel but in Casablanca Ricks opponents are Ilsa, the police chief and Viktor Lazlo. They are the people that forces Rick to change.

Brandon, on the subject of betrayal, how does a character come back from a betrayal. How might we go about a redemption? I'm interested because I think a betrayal would be a great twist and then create some good drama during the aftermath. Very good piece. I just heard about 4 corners opposition and was happy to see you had a video on it. Thanks!

@Writer Brandon McNulty Let's suppose Alice is running for mayor. Bob is her personal assistant. Alice and Bob are sort of falling for each other, but Bob is a plant from Charles' campaign to make sure she doesn't get elected. Bob doesn't want to sabotage Alice because they're starting to have feelings for each other, but he doesn't really have a choice because Charles is blackmailing him. He can't tell Alice about it without dire consequences. At the critical moment, Bob ruins Alice's campaign. He feels awful about it and he still has these feelings but now Alice basically hates him. Now that Bob has betrayed Alice, how do we redeem Bob and get them back together?

@@heavymetalelf That's gonna depend on their character, but truth/honesty would probably be their best shot. Have you watched The Boys yet? I'm 5 episodes in, and it might be right up your alley with all the deceit/sabotage and hope for redemption going on in the show.

I love your videos. Great information and leaves lots to think about. I was just wondering, if you are able to increase your volume when filming. IDK if it's even possible, I'm not technology smart by any means. But with your videos I have to put the volume on full, whereas other videos I don't have to.

Love the chanel! Can't get enough of it! I'm learning a lot but PLEASE fix the volume , it's too low.

i dont like alot of plot twist cuz lots of them are just sudden that make no sense so the writer can seem smart.instead of it trying to add some sense to it and turn some gears in the background.i also watched to really great superhero series called invincible and the boy,they are both really well done

100% agree that you can't overdo it with plot twists. I'm reading an urban fantasy novel right now, and I'm in this stretch where I keep learning that the bad guy isn't the bad guy after all...except he is...except he isn't...except he's working WITH the bad guy...except the boss baddie ISN'T that bad...except there's someone WORSE, who's actually good...except (you get the idea)

@@potatomanboooi3105 Depends on what you're most passionate about at the moment. I tend to have more success with stories that I *want* to write, rather than stories that I think I *should* write.

@@WriterBrandonMcNulty I want to write it because it's more down to earth for me.the story is about a writer who thought he had no freedom to choose during his life at school.when he got superpowers he thought he had no decision of he wanted to be a hero or writer

Beware the comic sidekick. Be afraid, be very afraid.

The sand people were also obstacles

Very mysterious, very horrible ending.

The entire last episode was a bummer. I feel like they stripped the soul of the show by abandoning the sitcom elements/vibe in favor of a paint-by-numbers final act. I wasn't crazy about the 4th episode either (the infodump should've been spread over multiple episodes IMO)

@Caitlyn Carvalho Most plot twists ARE stock twists. How your story builds toward it is what distinguishes your twist from the cliche.

@Caitlyn Carvalho You know how Oedipus unknowingly marries his mother and then learns the truth and is horrified by it? The "parent identity" twist was done thousands of years ago... BUT it still had impact in 1980 when Darth Vader is revealed to be Luke's father

The real plot twist to Wandavision was how fast the show went from novel and clever to complete shitshow. Yikes.

If you watch Marvel movies, I think you have a bigger problem.

Marvel movies were actually quite good Some actual marvel movies suck but in general they make entertaining movies with some interesting messages to understand

The fact that the last couple of years of Marvel movies haven't been the best doesn't change the fact that the first ten years were pretty awesome.
