That is the core of the lesson here: vi, IV, I!! There's the 3rds, the swing thing Clive Burr did, song structure, tempo shifts, dynamics, unison playing, chugs and the while twin lead solo thing

Cheers dude, glad you got something out of it. Yeah spot on, that a 6/8 measure; trying to tap in to some of the more Prog rock vibes from Maiden :)

I’ve watched your other iron maiden vids but this tune is epic! You’ve totally nailed the sound but you just need a mullet and falsetto and you’re good to go. What do you use for the drum parts? I take it you don’t actually drum so are you manually creating a full drum track from scratch?

Tying my hair back atm, which sometimes looks like a mullet, so maybe 1/3 of the way there, lol! It would have been Toontrack's EZ Drummer 2. You input the notes like MIDI, then those trigger samples. So aye, I just programmed it in. Have a decent working knowledge of Clive's style so based it loosely on him, probably a bit of Nico as well

This is good but more in depth would be even better. Why not go down the music theory rabbit hole? It would be beneficial. That’s what would really make it an actionable how to, rather than simply a demonstration that you are able to.

Yeah, in an ideal world that would have been great! It was a good while ago I made this one, but I think I must have blocked out a few hours for filming and managed to edited it down to 35 mins, my guess would be that I didn't want to add more time in to the process? I find stuff longer than 45 mins to be really quite taxing to edit- having to proof watch them through if there are multiple mistakes is a real time vampire. Can only set aside so much of it for these videos sadly!

Nice work! What do you use for the drums on your backing tracks?

What do you mean that F# isn't in the key? Are you referring to the minor pentatonic?

I meant the F#5 power chord, or any F# chord (maj/min etc.) sorry, wasn't totally clear there, but was playing the chord, so hoped there was enough context :) I suppose you could say it's still E minor, because the C# (F's 5th), is the major 6th of E, but that's Dorian rather than Aeolian; but I generally try to steer away from too much theory in video like these!

Hello from Italy, you title is wrong in italian. Play means "giocare" if I play with a toy and "suonare" if a play an music instrument. So correct is: "suonare come gli Iron Maiden". Ciao!
