Sweetwater's Nick Bowcott shows you how to play those Iron Maiden-style guitar harmonies. In this part (2 of 3), Nick continues the lesson by taking a look at the intro to Iron Maiden's "The Trooper".

Ive been playing for years (mostly rhythm because im self taught by sound and never learned any theory) and ive tried to dabble with scales/harmonies and nothing ever clicked for me. This is the first video explanaition that finally gave me that "aha" moment so thank you
Great lesson!
Good lesson. Thanks
Thanks, Nick!
Great lesson here. I remember learing this some years ago by reading some Steve Vai interview, where he tackled harmonization and then I understood Iron Maiden. KISS does it too in songs suchs as Detroit Rock City's solo.
Some how I've never seen these Sweetwater videos before. While it's true bought a whole lot of stuff from Sweetwater over the years, I've been a fan of Mr. Bowcott since '83.... thank you for the lesson, Nick!
irons have the most powerful harmonies
Thanks Nick! Great, easy to grasp explanation! \m/
Thanks brother that was awesome. 🤘🏼❤ from Liverpool
Thank you for the lessons! Even though I don't play Maiden, Kiss or Slayer, I can use this when recording my own music to enhance some guitar parts. - Chris G
up the irons!!! 🤘😎🤘
9:45 PHOOEY! 😆
I was told parallel 5ths sound to stable, weak and boring, but that was in the context of discussing classical music and I think all bets are off when your playing an electric guitar with distortion.
