I know others have said it, but what an absolute amazing concept for a video. Probably some of the best indepth studio explanations I've ever come across. Bravo Tyler.

Fantastic idea for a video. Thanks! I'm currently enjoying making up some bass lines for my band's demos. Liked the vocals too.

Thanks Stu! Sometimes and on some songs you just know that P is what it needs - the quintessential bass tone! T

What are you playing for those higher-pitch, fast funk-style fills up the neck? It sounds a bit like some sort of fast scale run? How do you come up with this? Is it a melodic phrase or is it muscle memory from a scale exercise?

A lot of those are born out of my 12 Keys major exercise that I shared a video of last week, but then taken to the next step which is arpeggiating it so that it’s not just one continuous scale, but a selection of notes from which to choose. A lot of it is knowing the kind of melodic shape I want to hear in my head and then muscle memory to recall it on the fly, having put in a lot of hours on those types of exercise. T
