Hello Professor Austin! I want to thank you sincerely for this good information. I believe your tips will help me truly. Especially your remarks about showing my personality. I might not have had the guts to be me if you didn’t share that info. I do have a little technical feedback. I listen to most of my KZread videos podcast style, in other words, I put on my headphones and lock my phone or iPad. There was a very noticeable bit of feedback in this video. This video was published in 2018 and we are in September 2019. So you might have resolved the issue in current videos. If you ever need help or advice on improving your videos and sound, hit me up.

Fantastic question. The same principles apply to a business on LinkedIn. I would however recommend to go heavy on posting in the news feed. Post as much useful information as possible. Similar to what you would do with a business page on FB. Still to one post a day for a business. Does that help?
Hey there, wondering what if my experience is in insurance but I'm studying a post grad in Human Resources to be completed this yr. How do I sell myself as someone who wants to chamge career directions?

Hi Davies, congrats on taking the chance at switching careers, you can reflect your goals and aspirations to change careers by letting the reader know why you are changing careers, what was the pivotal moment that prompted you to switch, I recommend looking at job descriptions for the job you want and add those keywords int he summary and integrate them as that is what you want to do. best of luck and hop this helps.

Fantastic! So glad to hear you have a LinkedIn account. Do you have a summary?
0. Attention grabbing first sentence, keywords are important in the whole summary (SEO) 1. Write in First Person 2. Tailor your summary (to a specific position or industry) 3. Include expertise/specialties section (to be placed at the very end of the summary) 4. Keep your summary short and to the point (2-3 paragraphs with 2-3 sentences each) 5. Show your character (industry related hobbies and interests) 6. Include a call to action (website, portfolio, email address etc.)
Hello Thank you for your insightfully inspiring video I need your help
Ayah A 1 second ago Hi Heather, love your stuff! I have a bit of a difficult one, How can i apply for 3 different jobs, using one profile? E.g. I want to apply for Personal Assistant, Marketing Assistant roles and Project Administrator roles.
I like the idea of showing my character on LinkedIn! Business profiles can be SO dry!
@ProfessorHeatherAustin
5 жыл бұрын
I agree Steven. Business profiles are not nearly as fun as more casual platforms like IG and FB.
We want to use this video for a college course in Diet & Nutrition at Santa Rosa Junior College. Would you please grant us permission to caption the video so it has punctuation and clear sentences? If you turn on Community Contributions in KZread, we could add the better captions to these videos. Alternatively, we can send you a corrected caption file that you can upload in KZread. One more option is to use a site such as Amara.org that will embed the video and give us an interface to overlay the video with the better caption file. All of these options leave the control in your hands. If you take down the video, it will no longer appear in the course, we will just be embedding from KZread, not downloading the video.
Good tips......

What i have to do? Please mam reply. Can i extend pages or what?

Great question Pawan! My recommendation would be to stick to no longer than 2 pages (even with 8 years of experience. Mention only your most important accomplishments as they relate to the position you are applying for. Does that help?

Professor Heather Austin ok i will use most important accomplishments and reduce pages in Resume. Thanks alot Mam. You got my Q'n as content, Could you do video on this subject?
@dannac_8888
5 жыл бұрын
Pawan Angadi Why?! Five years of experience is the beginning of your life span of your entire career. Wait until you are out here 10, 15, 25 years! Constraint Less is more Use more charged and powerful phrases to say more with few words. Cut, cut, cut 'n edit and cut some more. Take a class in resume writing, consult with one of hundreds of resume writers and pay to have them give you important suggestions. Better to pay someone to write it one time then use this as a template of how to format it and word it. Local US libraries have free resume writing volunteers for free. Submit your CV and they will critique it as many times as you want. Like Tony Robbins says it's not about not having the resources, it's about not being resourceful enough. Good luck.

Hi Heather, as usual, your hints are very helpful, congrats! I do agree with everything you've pointed out. It is indispensable for someone to get interested in your profile. However, to boost your page requires much more than this, do you agree? In your situation, for instance, you have this regular channel on youtube which gives you a very expressive contribution. For ordinary users like me and the majority of your audience, to hire a Premium Service should be a good option to put me in the top research positions when headhunters and potential clients are looking for potential candidates or partners; to make your own prospection and invite people for adding you should increase your network and visibility as well; to write articles for specifics communities should be also a good alternative.

Waldir, thank you for the conversation! Yes, I do agree that a good LinkedIn summary is only one method for increasing LinkedIn profile views. There are other methods, like you mentioned - news feed posts, writing articles, participating in groups, etc... However, I believe it all starts with a great summary. As soon as I really tailored my summary and made it keyword heavy, my profile views and connection requests increased substantially (even before KZread). I hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

The key to multiplying those weekly views is posting and sharing content, publishing your own original content, and engaging with content from others within your network (especially those who are very well-connected). You'll go from that 1 view to 200+ very quickly.

I understand completely what you mean. You don't have to be sensitive at all to hear how the volume, and tones, and tempo are too close to her voice. It competes with her voice and message. If you listen to recordings of VO from samples off of Edge Studio, you can hear how the mix is not competing with the voice. Maybe that will help. Edge studio trained me in VO work. Ed the owner was just a, solo act back then. It will definitely help. Best of luck to you professor.

Can you write a Linkedin profile if you never had the possibility to work a normal serious job? If you are poor and forced to get just humble jobs (cleaner, carer), be an economic migrant in other nations, can you make a Linkedin profile to find an office job?? (if you have the right skills to get the office job)? The answer is NO. Linkedin is racist, structurally racist.
