Very nicely done and good explanation. I can see doing black but I don't care for the carbon fiber. Cutting the vinyl under the emblem makes a big difference.

How is this with rock chips? I’m planning to do it with both the front snd back emblems but I’m worried the front will chip and peel very easily?

I did not do it but its fairly easy same process

do you have to use a heat gun when doing that or could you get away with out doing it

i tried doing it without heat and it makes it very difficult, but if you have a hair dryer it works pretty well.

Personally I'd heat it to perfection before cutting. It would relax at the corners more precisely than laying it down with fingers.

So you only hit it with heat that one time. No post install heat? How's it holding up? Nice job. 👍

Absolutely. I just removed 6 year old vinyl stripes from my Mustang with a blow dryer.

You're basically cutting under the emblem anyways, you wont be able to see it

You should remove the emblem from the car, wrap it, and reinstall. Then you can wrap the vinyl around the edge and you dont damage your paint

If you have really good sharp knife and you are absolute pro than no. If you are ordinary guy than yes.

Circles are actually an infinitely high amount of straight lines, imagine a hexagon resembles a circular shape.

I'll do it for $50

It's not as easy as it seems, I end up cutting into the paint with scratches that's hard to repair. It's worth paying for a pro rather than do it yourself.
