How To Wire a Turn Signal Flasher Relay Directional Blinker on a Car / Truck / ATV / Motorcycle

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this video, I show you how I would wire an automotive flasher relay, (which is also called a turn signal, directional, and blinker circuit) for a car, truck, motorcycle, ATV, dirt bike, side by side, go cart, or whatever kind of vehicle needs a left and right turn signal. There are many ways to wire automotive style turn signals, but I prefer to wire them using two relays, because I feel like it is a safest method of wiring the signal lights. Below is a list of the relays, the turn signal flasher, fuses, the 1157 bulbs and sockets, and the 3 way toggle switch I used to make the entire circuit work properly.
Items used in the signal light wiring diagram (You may not need to buy in these quantities, but I did.)

After replacing countless wires and using different relay's I still could not get it to work. I am not good with wiring so I thought wiring turn signals would be awful. But with your help I managed to get it done in like 2 hours. Everything works great even used the original ground wires from the harness so its quite clean. Thank you again!

    Man you keep making a video like this you definitely got me to subscribe. I had an idea on how to do it but I knew there were small things that I was missing and this pretty much topped it off for me. This video is 150% understandable this is like breaking it down for dummies. Definitely is going to help me out because I do not want to pay to run new headlights, blinkers, brake lights,ect. Another idea you may be able to mention is how to run new headlights with high beams I think that would be an interesting topic and maybe throwing the brake lights in there with it to where they have the standard brake lights without you pressing on it then you know they get brighter whenever you hit the brakes just a thought would be video to watch.

    I bought everything in this video not realizing that I need something to put the fuses in. I don't know what they are called lolol 😂 i rewatched the video but I don't believe you mentioned what the fuses go into. I bought the 272 piece fuse package but they are all just different fuses only. Thanks a lot for this informative video.👍

    Awesome! Check out my other turn signal videos too. I have about 3 different methods of doing this. One method doesn’t need relays, but needs LED bulbs. Another method has a cool switch that also has some other cool features. Check out the link in the top pinned comment above, and you’ll see them all there.

  • @tomcox6754
    @tomcox67542 жыл бұрын

    Great Video. This solve a lot of issues. When you have time to create another along this topic, would you address this issue. Most cars since turn signal were required and us the 1157 bulb use the dimmer filament for the tail lights and the brighter one for the brake, turn signal, and the hazard. Would you demonstrate how this could be wired. I know you said the white wire could be used for the tail light, but how would you wire to have the turn signal, brake, and hazard on the brighter filament? Thanks and I will watch in the future for another great video.

    I did it by using a second three position switch, on/off/Turn Signal Enable Then linked the enable to the input of the second three position switch. I then linked all four of the lights to the on position of the first switch with a flasher

  • @sirboomsalot2429

    @sirboomsalot2429

    Basically the first switch you can enable the hazard lights or enable the turn signal, the second then just is the turn signal control. It is how I did it because I didn't mind a second switch
