Thank you .. Great effort. Could you please advice me about how to store my bike for summer which is not a dirt bike season in Middle East because summer is too hot and we just use dirt bike at winter. Also the summer usually takes around 6 to 8 months.
Move to georgia and ride at durhamtown year round.
I live in Michigan, so every couple of days I just rev it for 5 minutes and make sure it still runs
I have a much easier method,...ride it!!

Sick Soul Patch, Bruh.
Use 100LL aviation fuel. It has no water in it and never goes bad. My KX450F loves it. Not only do I put it in my airplane dirt bike and small engines.
Stud up some tires and keep riding. Get some friends and plow a track on the ice. Trail ride in the snow with gold screws or friction spikes. Just got to dress for it. Forget putting them away too much fun to be had out there.
Flat spots to the tires will that actually hapoen?
5:20 from my experience modern cables dont need lubricating. it just makes them stick. i lubed mine once and the clutch became really hard to pull in, so i had to spend ages trying to flush degreaser all through it. i think they are like teflon coated or something so dont need lube. maybe the previous owner of my bike upgraded to teflon cables and its not the norm? i dont know. i had never experienced this on older bikes/ push bikes etc. oiling them had always helped. but oiling this cable totally fked it.
Look into moving
Can you spray that stuff into a ktm tpi bike?
I heard drain all the oil, fill it all the way up and just do a normal oil change so whats the right way?
If my bikes sit for a certain period of time I always every once and a while lube my chain. Even if I don’t ride.
Either keep ridding or start it up couple time a week
After you put oil in the cylinder via the spark plug hole, do you have to remove it somehow when you want to ride? Also does fuel stabilizer work with 2 stroke oil and gas premix?
@rmatvmc
6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the questions. No you will not need to remove the teaspoon of motor oil come the next riding season. A teaspoon amount is not that much. However, keep in mind you will want to change out the spark plug after you run it a few times. - Fuel stabilizer works for all 2-cycle and 4-cycle gasoline engines. Cheers *Lucas Bercaw*
i bring mine in the basment
I am storing my bike until the snow melts and I am wondering if it is really important to put fogging oil or a teaspoon of engine oil in the cylinder because my bike is a 2 stroke, so I figure it had its dose of oil in the cylinder already right?

I am wondering how to store my 84 yz80 if it sits in my garage over the winter will it still run good after the winter
Uhhhh I think I’ll just keep riding it. Times is hard with covid, can’t spend too much lol
Why would you leave gas in the tank, even with stabil?? The gas will be crap when the season comes around, you'll want to run fresh gas. just no point..btw stabil only claims to help fuel for 6 months.
@TepcoCycleRepair

Taylor Anderson definitely better but it still goes bad and you won't want to run it after it sits all winter. Just don't know why they don't recommend draining the tank? They are not old school steel tanks when you had to worry about it rusting.

I’m living in north Georgia. I’m keeping the bike in the garage, so I need to winterize my bike?
@rmatvmc

If you're still riding your bike regularly there's no need to winterize it. But if you plan on letting it sit in the garage for a while in colder temperatures, then winterizing it is a good idea.
Excelent video , very informative and helpful. Except you shouldn't advice people about using water during summer on their motorcycles. Water will never tolerate high temperatures and will dilapidate the radiator insides

elcincero321 Actually H2O has a higher boiling point and resistance to heat than some conventional antifreeze/coolants. He said he used Distilled water which has absolutely no additives or chemicals. Just pure H2O
So if I ride during the winter every weekend or every other I will need to do this? (Any tips appreciated)

If I sprayed engine fogger into my 2014 grizzly 450 and it won't start but did before did I over do it?
@rmatvmc
Жыл бұрын
No, if you got a lot in there, you're probably going to need to check and clean the oil off of your spark plug. If it's soaked in oil, leave the plug out, ground your spark plug cap, put a rag over the hole and crank the engine 5-10 seconds to pump some of the oil out (the rag will fly off if you don't hold it there). Reinstall your spark plug (might be better to use a new one) and try again. -Charles

My son has a 70. Can I just bring it in the basement and have him take it out and ride it like once a week.
@rmatvmc

There is no reason why you can't do that. The main thing that leads to problems over winter is the bike not being started or ridden.
It's in the winter you learn to handle the bike because if you don't ride studded (which i think is a waste of money) the winter is not forgiving so you'll know when and what mistake you did
Yep, if you want to keep the aftermarket fluids shop in business then go for it. Otherwise just kick it over every couple of weeks. The dirt will settle in to the air filter more by leaving it? Seriously, that's some car sales speak right there.
Great video I would like to keep riding my bike through winter but where I live there is way to much snow. Any of u wanna gift me a timber sled kit for a 2016 ktm sxf i would be happy honestly I accept any help I could get so that I can ride my bike in the winter 🥶🥶
I have a yz125 with an almost empty tank should I put fuel stabilizer in it or just leave it
@samueltheriault4158
6 жыл бұрын
I think you should fill it back up to the brim and use stabilizer, that way you don't have condensation in your tank and your fuel will be all good. If it stays for a while and you don't put stabilizer in, you might just clog up your carburator and all. So pjt stabilizer in, and run the engine for a good 5 min to get it every where in the bike.
