We are not quite to this level of leash walking. Can you share a link to the video that addresses the very beginning of leash training?

I like your videos, well some of them, but what I don't like is that you (and others) often take the easy route by choosing an easy dog. This video is an example. You start the video of a hyperactive, single-minded dog that darts out of the door, pulls and doesn't listen. A dog that never appears in the video again. What do you do? You switch to a placid, pretty chilled toy breed to demonstrate with, who is already 90% of the way there and you know it going to pay you some attention. I don't want to be one of those internet 'haters' because I don't hate your videos, but I just think it's disingenuous and when people's "leash walking is failing", is often because they have a dog like the first one that just doesn't stand there next to the car watching the world go by

Exactly. And it’s not just this channel, but a lot channels do this. Show us how you control the bigger hyperactive dog, not the dog that weighs 3lbs and is already behaved.

Our 9 month old puppy responds very well to treats and praise at home, but shows zero interest in treats when we go for a walk or to the dog park, as all the sights and sounds are far more interesting to him in those settings. Any suggestions for getting his focus when treats aren’t working?

First thing is to practice building up distractions while you're still inside the house. Progressively move to harder distractions, then repeat the process in gradually harder environments. If he stops taking treats, he's likely progressed too fast. The other thing you can do is use toys to reward if he finds it more exciting.

What about dogs that are not treat motavative nor will focus on you.

How do you train skittish dogs? Ones that retreat to its safe space. But then freezes up when on a house lead if there’s any pressure on it?

This is great! Can you show this technique with a mastiff? I really want to walk with him but he drags me around. It takes two of us!

Hello I know this question has nothing to do with walking but I recently made your tuna treats. I am wondering how long they can be left out at room temperature? I love all your videos and find them very helpful.

Are you kidding? I have a 7 month old that I got at 4 months.. She doesn't care about the behaviour to get the treat, just jumps and bites my fingers trying to get it. . She barely will sit for a treat. Even if we're in the house with no distractions.
