    It's interesting to note on the "heat map" (2:30) that the light blues spaces are nearly as likely to be landed on as the "hottest" ones despite being on the "cold" part of the board. I already saw them being touted as top-notch spots in other guides but that just reinforces it for me.

    They're overestimated by go. But tbh the probabilites are not that big of a deal, yea the oranges are 17% more likely to be landed on but the light blues are twice as cheap

    5:27 Don’t do this too fast though, there’s a Community Chest and chance card Called “Street Repairs” And “General Repairs” Which makes you pay for your buildings $40 per House and $115 per Hotel for “Street Repairs” (Community Chest) and $50 per House and $100 Per Hotel for “General Repairs”. (Chance) And in different games they have different names.

    Great call out! Certainly would be sad to lose to a chance card if your bank account can't handle street/general repairs.

    Here's my strategy: Buy the brown, light blue and the dark blue ones. They'll profit you as much as the hot ones does if not more. I have played 6 matches in total and won 4 out of them. I don't know why people says that we need to buy orange and red properties to win because I never get those and still win lol

    3:29 This may be a good idea in the Mega Edition since there’s Train Depots Which doubles the rent for that railroad which cost $100, plus the only reason why you can never get a Monopoly in these is because of Short line (since a Chance Card can’t send you there.) and those Railroad Chance Cards your opponents can get, you may wanna trade your Streets and Cash so you can get a Monopoly on Railroads, plus there’s 2 Chance Cards that sends a player to the nearest Railroad and charging double rent, so you may wanna get at least 2 (hopefully it’s something else than Short line, unless you have 3).

    3:38 Those are actually called Streets, Colored groups also known as Streets are just 1 type of property, Utilities and Railroads are also properties as well. But still, buy every Street you land on.

    Not even joking, I genuinely like Monopoly. I think my favorite "anecdote" for the game is how everyone always complains how long the game is, and yet almost everyone plays the game so WRONG. IE, collecting taxes and putting them in the center of the board and re-distributing that money back to the players when they land on Free Parking or some crap. The idea of this game is to bankrupt other players, and when you're stocking the middle with free $500s or redistributing the money around to other players, OF COURSE it's going to take longer to play! Inflation is a bad thing in Monopoly. Anyway, good video!

    5:35 However, Don’t be afraid to buy a Hotel sometimes, even though it is a bold, dangerous, and not the best move since you to return the houses when buying a Hotel, if you know a hotel will make one if your opponents go bankrupt, maybe you should build one, since bankrupting a opponent means you get all of their assets, which can be very good if you have one more street you need to complete a Monopoly that you want but one of your opponents has that last street you need to complete it.

    This is just a sad game, last time i tried it after not playing it since i was a kid, we were 4 players, player 1 got a hot streak of high dice right out of the gate, and bought every property he landed on, game was won in round 2. What could fix it is either players start with less cash or make property more expensive.

  • @CalebN.
    @CalebN.2 ай бұрын

    I think either ignorant people or trolls frequent the pages of Monopoly videos. The game was created to show how monopolies squeeze blood out of the nearly dead while keeping them alive, but you wouldn't know that by the number of people who claim that the game is a quick one.

    Oranges live up to the hype, reds do NOT. There's more to how good a property is than how often they're landed on, and $150 per house is a lot worse than $100 (or $50). Reds are the second worst set in the game, better than greens and tied with yellow. Although they're only slightly worse than the magentas and the dark blues.

  • @me-pk2kb

    @me-pk2kb

    Ай бұрын

    Yep, 100%. To be fair reds are barely better than yellows. Look at the probability distributions; the reds are only landed on 5% more while the yellows rent is 10% more. But the rent is much better. And everyone goes on and on about buy price but that doesn't really mean much when you'll probably be trading anyways.

    Ok I’m gonna be real with you. At about 4:20, you said to auction a property that you know someone really wants. I can not express how bad of a tip this is. If you actually buy the property and sell it to them, you can get a piece of the cake. By going to auction, you receive no benefit. I honestly cannot take any of your monopoly advice seriously

  • @hardyhousegames

    @hardyhousegames

    Жыл бұрын

    I didn't set this up as a fine-set rule, but a suggestion based on the circumstances. If you auction in this case every time, you're missing my point. What I'm getting at with this tip is that if you force the opponent to buy the property for a much higher value, their bank account could get low enough to kill their game. You don't win this game strictly by making money. You win by making everyone else so poor they lose. I've seen players get so fixated on getting a specific property that they ruin themselves financially to get it and lose pretty soon after when they have a heavy rent to pay. You need to be socially savvy to understand if your opponent is desperate enough to accidentally bottom out their cash. It works. That said, I love your suggestion to buy and sell it to them for higher. If you can get them to buy it at double the price, that's great! I've just seen people be more opposed to bottoming out their bank account when they know the money is going to an opponent. When it's up for auction, they're more inclined to spend more because they only see it as a benefit to themselves and not to an opponent. As for the rest of the tips in this video, check out my references in the description. These tips aren't just my own. They come from monopoly champions, game analysts, learnings from AI, etc. This video will absolutely up your Monopoly game if you give it a chance.
