===================
At the beginning of play, three cards-one suspect, one room, and one weapon-are chosen at random and put into a special envelope, so that no one can see them. These cards represent the facts of the case. The remainder of the cards are distributed among the players.
Players are instructed to assume the token/suspect nearest them. In older versions, play begins with Miss Scarlett and proceeds clockwise. In modern versions, all players roll the die/dice and the highest total starts the game, with play proceeding clockwise; this is the high roll rule. Players roll the die/dice and move along the board's corridor spaces, or into the rooms accordingly.
The object is to deduce the details of the murder; that is, the cards in the envelope. There are six characters, six murder weapons and nine rooms, leaving the players with 324 possibilities. As soon as a player enters a room, he/she may make a suggestion as to the details, naming a suspect, room, and weapon. For example: "I suggest it was Professor Plum, in the Dining Room, with the candlestick." The player's suggestion must include the room he/she is currently in; suggestions may not be made in the corridors. The tokens for the suggested suspect and weapon are immediately moved into that room, if they are not both already present. A player's suggestion may name him/herself as the murderer and may include cards in his/her own hand.
Once a player makes a suggestion, the others are called upon to disprove it. If the player to his/her left holds any of the three named cards, that player must privately show one (and only one) of them to him/her. If not, the process continues clockwise around the table until either one player disproves the suggestion, or no one can do so. A player's turn normally ends once his/her suggestion is completed.

If the person next to u shows u a room that is very helpful actually because the other players don't get to see that and u have crossed of one of the hardest pieces of information to get being the location of the murder because their are more rooms than people and weapons and u can only suggest a room if u land on that room with ur dice roll where as u can suggest people and weapons no matter where u are

I had a Scenario where there was two weapon Left, Everyone knew the room was conservatory and I had scarlet and wrench. The 2 remaining weapons were lead pip an revolver. Having guessed wrench the whole game, people thought I didn’t have wrench. I guessed Scarlet, revolver and conservatory knowing that mustard was the person. The goal was to either see the revolver in someone’s hand or not see the revolver. I saw it was the revolver so I knew the weapon had to be the lead pipe while the players thought the wrench was still a possibility. Then I won.

the odds are incredibly likely that she showed the same card. 1st off , he is only saying to assume that she showed that card and let the turn go by without adding any notation. Sure she might have those two but leave it for another time. What he is NOT saying is to X out those other 2 because the only one she has is the candlestick. 2nd if you mark that she might have the other 2 cards as a possibility that clouds your column for her. She only has 3 cards, we know that the candle stick is one. That said we only want to notate what cards 2 and 3 could be and they should only be marked when she shows a card after someone guesses a combo that does NOT include a card which we know she has. (example Green Knife Lounge: now we KNOW it has to be one of those so Id stick a 2 on each of those indicating her 2nd card HAS to be one of those 3 and ONLY those 3)

You are absolutely right. It's a flaw in the system, which I rectified by NEVER assuming that another player only has 1 card in the suggestion when they show me a card (or anyone else for that matter). I've made wrong accusations before when I assumed they didn't have the other 2 cards in a suggestion, because periodically players will have 2 cards from the 3 suggested. To notate this, even once I've confirmed they had a card, unless I can fully rule out the others, I put the "1s, 2s, etc." in all relevant boxes, including the one with the green check mark.

True, I've done pretty much this strategy against hard characters. You pretty much HAVE to make a few assumptions in order to win, and of course it doesn't always happen. On hard mode, if you figure out 2 of the 3 items, anywhere from 2 to 4 of the AI will also know them within the same round. Even in medium mode, the opponents still have a shot at winning. I don't think they bluff as much on medium though, so that's how they make it less hard. That said, it's kinda fun though to play the game like this against human players who don't know about tracking each suggestion, and even more fun playing the game IRL physically, and winning easily because people don't realize you're supposed to check off X's when people can't disprove.

Zorro Singh I've used three, but it's on rare occasions. When you play with all 6 characters, including yourself, everyone will have only 3 cards. If you have three marked down, it's certain they don't have any of the other cards, so you can put x's for the rest. I like to call it sudokuing the game.

The key is what I call a 'free show'. Gaining information from someone else's suggestion. If you wait until you've been show a card you will take an age to get to the solution (unless of course you get lucky and hit it early). This is what this video is showing you - to gain information elsewhere. I play the game like this every time, but it's not for everyone. To suggest you win every time is ludicrous ... because you don't!

  • @yetyet9538

A little late, but I'll try to explain. Let's say that Green showed either Plum, wrench or hall to another player. So we will put 1s on those options. Next round, we notice that he showed either the rope or Scarlet, so we put 2s on those options. The reason for doing this is because it's important to know which round he showed which cards. The game goes on, and we notice that Green does not have Plum or the hall, because he is unable to show cards when those options are asked. Thanks to putting the 1s on those options, we can clearly see that the only card he could possibly have is the wrench. If we did put 1s on the rope and Scarlet aswell, we wouldn't be able to tell which round he showed the cards, and we wouldn't be able to single out the wrench. All those 1s would just be confusing, unless you have a great ass memory. Does that make sense?

  • @Fingerprintguy

@@yetyet9538 Thanks for the explanation. This was so confusing to me since I only played one game as reference. People keep referring to the 1s or 2s being rounds but the same player may reveal a card from his hand twice in the same round. The purpose of the numbering seems to be creating a set of 3 cards ordered in sequence. For me it would make more sense to group the 3 cards with an alphabetical character, but maybe that's just me. I also found that the speed of the game had me missing out on clues as I was trying to mark my card cells.

Minimising the amount of information other players receive on your turn is paramount, you can do this early in the game by making three assumptions that haven't been made yet. By doing this, when you're shown a card - it's more likely that fewer players will know what card you've been shown. By the time you're not able to make assumptions no-one else has, you're likely to have gathered enough information to start creating chain reactions from calculated assumptions, at this point one piece of information can potentially tell you 5+ more pieces of information. When you do this effectively, it can put you ahead 1 to 2 turns. It does suck the fun out of the game, but I managed to reach number 1 globally on switch with roughly 60% W/L with 6 people lobbies largely due to this strategy, so I can attest to its effectiveness.

Overall logical, but there are many problems. Most of them are small, but one of them may destroy the game. On 1:42 Shouldn't make such marks because the mark is meaningless. On 12:38 Forget dismark. And should mark Dining room because it's a possibility. On 17:31 Everyone can know these things by automatic notes because every passed Col.M and Rope. On 19:49 I cannot understand the logic behind X for the lead pipe. Just because she has another card that was asked? Too bold. On 20:13, what kind of deductive reasoning is he using?!!! Put an X on the lead pipe is not safe. It's still very possible to have the lead pipe. If anyone plays Sudoku, he should understand the potential effect of this mistake.

Then at 6:27 you say Green’s 1’s disappear because he had and showed either Orchid, Lead Pipe, or Dining Room. Those 1’s didn’t disappear on the Orxhid or Lead Pipe boxes because he never showed them and because Orchid never asked for them during her turn

Currently, I have played social deduction games for 4-5 years, now I'm playing murder mystery/mystery genres. I do not agree with your reasoning when mustard showed you the conservatory. You said when the person next to you shows you get no Xs. The problem is Xs are information all players get, so you do not get ahead. You got an exact card 4 more Xs that no one else gets. Solving the person right beside you first gives you an edge in my opinion. Also, to the person that said they can't beat hard, when you end a turn if its down to a 50/50 or even two 50/50 guesses you have to guess, it will get solved before your next turn its your only chance.

So, the "1's" represented the first Suggestion that Player disproved. The "2's" represented the second time they disproved. 3's for the third, and so on. If the same Player disproves suggestions where the same Card shows more than once, they will get multiple numbers in the box, making it much more likely that the character had that card. It isn't 100% confirmed yet, but it can help you make better suggestions yourself later on, either to confirm for certain whether or not they had the card, or to make a better guess at a different card.

This is great information but your narration tends to be quite confusing as you don't explain who you are talking about from time to time. For instance, at the 15:27 mark you say "But before we move ahead, the most important thing here . . . is . . . , remember 'HE' had the Conservatory . . . . " with no mention of who 'HE' is.

This is just the standard strategy when playing Clue. I don't know if back in 2017 you could win with this strategy every time, but it's definitely not the case now. The AI on "hard" mode uses the exact same logic and strategy that you used (if not better), so it ultimately comes down to luck. The same can be said for most other players in the online game.

If he hadn’t and somebody had library then he had .50 chance of answering correctly cuz there was 2 more left.
