How to win a Nobel Prize -- 9 simple steps | Dr. Michael Brown | TEDxUTA

This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. After receiving a Nobel Prize learn some of the steps taken to earn a Nobel Prize. If you follow these simple steps you might find yourself on the concert hall stage in Stockholm.
Michael S. Brown received a BA degree in Chemistry in 1962 and an MD degree in 1966 from the University of Pennsylvania. He was an intern and resident at the Massachusetts General Hospital, and a postdoctoral fellow with Dr. Earl Stadtman at the National Institutes of Health. In 1971, he came to UT Southwestern where he rose through the ranks to become a professor in 1976. He is currently Paul J. Thomas Professor of Molecular Genetics and Director of the Jonsson Center for Molecular Genetics at UT Southwestern. Dr. Brown and his long-time colleague, Dr. Joseph L. Goldstein, together discovered the low density lipoprotein (LDL) receptor, which controls the level of cholesterol in blood and in cells. They showed that mutations in this receptor cause Familial Hypercholesterolemia, a disorder that leads to premature heart attacks in one out of every 500 people in most populations. They have received many awards for this work, including the U.S. National Medal of Science and the Nobel Prize for Medicine or Physiology.
About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

The first 8 may be done(at least in theory) by anyone. But the 9th one is God's gift. "Marriages are engaged in heaven".

Maybe the first step would be to ask a professor, who is also a researcher, if you could engage in the routine of his/her lab. This way you can see if it appels to you. If it doesn't, you can always switch to another lab. Before you ask him/her, it is better to know what are their research lines. Cancer is a broad disease, there is plenty of research in this topic. Your horizons are almost endless. I hope it will help you 🙂

I want to say that what if we can find a cell which will going to mutate at protoonco gene. Or what if we have like radioactive sensor or something like that and we destroy all the cell which are mutated. So the sensor of protoonco gene mutation Or, what if we have yearly low budget check up affordable to all person and we can diagnose earlier and save their life. I don't know if u will like it or not. But i think so what i describe.

I learned it today from someone that we should not stive for becoming something but, rather, we should strive to do something. Don't strive for tags, strive for curiosity ( in case of scientists ). Who are humans to judge you for knowing about nature??!!!! It's your satisfaction of curiosity which counts!!! I will try to implement the first statement in my life. BTW my dream is same as Einstein's, that is, to know how the nature works!!! But unfortunately I didn't got to choose physics as my studies but that is not stoping me learning it in part time, as a hobby.
