Kerosene works better than any fancy aerosol cleaners ever can. BTW, I have been using a 5rs candle and hot air gun to rust proof metal parts for a long time. It only works if you store the part in the drawer. Unlike wood, wax doesn't penetrate metal parts and the wax tends to chip off with time. You can also rub candle on your metal frame and leave it in the sun for coating.

@@cycleriderroy It's an old trick already available on the internet. Search for "wood wax polishing". Usually, beeswax(200rs/kg) is used because it gives off a sweet aroma from the wood finish but paraffin can also be used if you want to do it for cheap. I have two drawers full on metal tools, all coated with paraffin.

Not exactly a pain, the pain is only to clean up the old chain because you need to remove every bit of oil and grease once done it serves for 300 kms rides with 0 spots or grease on the bike, increases the life more than 2x 3x, normal chain can last upto 15000 kms.

Bro I am explaining it in a simple way As you can see in market their are many brands who sell gears but shmino and sram are believed to be superior and microshift and ltwo are below them this is because the technology used behind that product makes its expensive that's why shmino and sram are more costly 🛑 According to my experience I have 2 gear cycle fittrip niner with shmino and firefox Viper with Microshift and during ride shmino perform way more better and don't shift by its own but microshift some times shift its own during speed riding which is very dangerous. ( Gears modle may have better performance)

Vishu did you even use Turtle wax on the chain . its sold as a prpduct for cars painted surfaces and boats. turtle wax would certainly suit the cycle frame. but since its carnouba wax, have you tried putting the chai in Turtle wax or 3M wax with water(liquid wax ) . maybe that would make a good video if you're up for exploring it. cheers brother :) may you always do well on your journey

Mostly you can't. It depends on whether you have a freewheel system or a cassette. Since you mentioned u have a 3×7 drivetrain, then most probably you will have a freewheel and you just CANNOT interchange freewheel with a cassette. You will have to get the freewheel hub replaced by a cassette hub...for which u might have to buy a new tire altogether. I'm saying this because freewheels are used upto 7sp rear gearset and above that ie 9sp, 10sp, 11sp, cassettes are used. Hope it helped

Wax only need to re-apply after 300kms, no need to clean just dump it into Melted wax and put back. It reduces over-all costs to just Rs - 3 per 100kms. Drivetrain life increases by 300%

Where on earth do you find 5L ipa for rs500?? it is very hard to find it here. Even pharmacies dont keep any stock. Apparently people here use it for recreational purposes like kamlesh 🤣

not really, the wax turned black because of small quantity of old wax which was left in the electric cooker, but yes good observation. Deep cleaning is necessary

well... wax does give a bit of oil to the chain. a high density oil. but I suppose a tiny bit of coconut oil (which is a high density oil) would work just as well as waxing. by using wax you're able to get a tiny amount of high density oil. the problem we face when lubricating with a high density oil is 'how do we get a thin even spread'. spraying high density oil would be ideal but we don't have that kind of spray since oils tend to clog the spray head. that's where wd40 comes in. I dilute coconut oil in water to get a fine even spread of oil. gotta use very less oil just a few drops. the result is just like waxing. using too much of oil can attract dust. so I can see why people would be attracted to using wax .. it gives a nice even spread with no chance of too much oil.
