Awesome video Sam!! I never thought of using the sponge to smooth the decal! That is such a great idea, especially bc smoothing out those pesky wrinkles is my biggest problem area! You always show us unique, yet simple ways to work around common issues! Thanks for making this. It definitely helped ne!

housewifenails show me when you try them out. like. I want the good the bad and the ugly lol

I like water decals. I find them pretty easy but I find quick dry top coats melt them a bit that's why I never use them. the first time I used them I screwed them up...didn't use enough topcoat and I ended up ripping them. but they are definitely not made the same! lol

Ashleigh Latham YAS! how annoying is it to get it all cleaned up and looking gorge just for your tc to kill it?! 😂😂😂 if you're unsure- I Def suggested a water-based tc before quick dry to ensure you don't melt off your nail lol

I found the quick dry top coat shrunk mine. It was weird.

Polished Panther I really love the arti I'm showing here that I purchased through hologlamdecals. they're very easy to use - melt easily, not too thick, but not too thin that they rip if you need to replace. they're my go to

OOO MAMA YOU'RE UP LATE. LOL! APPLY A TACKY BASE COAT TO THE NAIL {OR} DONT LET YOUR POLISH COLOR COMPLETELY DRY. iF YOU SOAK THEM IN WARM WATER THEY'LL BE MUCH EASIER TO WORK WITH AS WELL. LET ME KNOW IF THAT HELPS!

Teresa McCarty Some decals have a clear top wrapper which you must remove. When I first used them I didn't know and they wouldn't stick.☺🤗

SAM I KNOW THE CLEAR WAS ON IT BUT I TOOK IT OFF I STILL COULDN'T GET IT TO STICK TRY APPLYING TOP COAT ON THAT WAS A JOKE THAT TURNED OUT TO BE A REAL BAD MESS I SOAKED THE DECAL IN WATER BUT STILL HAVING PROBLEMS HELP.... LOL

do you have to polish your nail first in order for it to stick to your nail

I suggest using a base coat to give the decal something to adhere to vs your naked nail plate. It protects your nail plate as well as blocking your natural oils from peeling through and your nail design popping right off. It also gives your topcoat something to adhere to and just makes the whole design last longer. So is it mandatory? No. But super useful I'd say.

Just take something that is laying around.... ummm... I will use a cat to smooth my decal. 😻

I used water decals when ever I slide them off and use tweezers it folds over & ruins them or I smudge them up when applying them 🙄

I watched this video and tried to put on the water decal. it DID NOT stick to the nail at all. I couldn't get it to stay on the nail at all. The acetone would not melt it. I followed all the steps. What am I missing?

A good quality decal. I believe I talked about some companies with very thick backing.... it just doesnt want to melt away, form to the nail, or cooperate at all. The only benefit to decals like those are that they dont smear at all with topcoat 😂

100% acetone and a lot of patience. Oh. And a really good topcoat to hopefully build on top of, vs sink into, the lines around the decal. Cut out as close as possible to the size you need on your nail, use HOT water to soak, and work really fast.

Itll just make it a little more pliable. It wont turn it into an amazing set of decals, but hopefully it'll help soften it up to lay flat to your nail so you can get topcoat on it
