I went to Ultra one day, and the lady there told me how much she hates buying cleansers for her brushes. So, she told me that a couple tablespoons or dish soap, a couple tablespoons of vinegar, and some water, is what she does. I used this, and it really worked. You can see all the nasty stuff in your brushes and blenders come out. You just soak it and squeeze a few times.

I know if your beauty blender grows mold, you can send a picture to the bb company and they will send you a new beauty blender, free, with the cleaner.

Don't put the blender actually in the case, especially after washing it. Holes or no holes, that isn't enough ventilation to dry it out completely if you live in a humid climate. Rest it on top of the case while it dries or while you're not using it or it will mold. I assure you I did absolutely everything she stated in this video religiously if not more so because I'm practically a germ-x freak, and two of my beauty blenders molded because I stored them in the case, even after leaving them for what I thought was enough time to dry, overnight.

+Kazeshinimeyo chan I leave it on top of the case too! Because when it's wet it won't fit inside. Place it in/on top of the case, don't put the lid on, and when it's dry it will fall inside. I live in the most dry place in the US, it's possible you live somewhere humid (which is what most people whose blenders have molded say), and that's why they got moldy.

I didn't know why my beauty blender get mold until today. Thank you. I live in a veryyyy humidddd place that was the answer I was looking.

I wash mine with dish detergent and then soak in an antiseptic solution like dettol then squeeze every drop out and let it air dry mine has lasted for 2years x

Yeah but if you get a new one and compare the two, I guarantee you, after 2 years, you'll see a clear difference between them and the new one will probably be a whole lot smoother and bouncier.

I've seen this video about 1 year and 3 months ago but I never forgot about this video I saw it so I can be ready when I get a beauty blend and yesterday I got one and I still remembered this video u know when a video is helpful u will never forget it thanks for this amazing video

I set mine ontop of its container to dry( it shrinks and falls in the cup) and when I use it the next day it's perfectly dry. I've had it two months and lately I've noticed mold! I read on the beauty blender site to let it dry like that and then when I clean it with the bb bar soap it takes out all the pink and doesn't even clean it.. Should I return or exchange it?

I had the same mold problem with a beauty blender recently, got molded after 2 weeks. I've been using them for years, washing with the solid blender cleanser and using the technique in the instructions. Even had one for over a year! They had to have made a bad batch lately.... How often do you wash your beauty blender? I remember I left my beauty blender to dry on my window and I believe I left it there for over 2 weeks when I came to get it. It was hard and it crumbled into little pieces

so I got my beauty blender for like $6 at target. it works just like the other ones b/c it IS the other ones, so there's a cheaper alternative. it didn't come with a cleaner but I clean it along with my other brushes, take some coconut oil and dish soap (there should be most soap than oil) and just wash out the cream/ liquid. it works like a charm and it smells rlly good afterwards

I did the exact same thing as well for the pink beauty blender, placed it on the case like you did, and it still grew mold on it :( so now I just let it air dry in a napkin.

I have the real techniques beauty blenders and I got the pack of 2 and the packaging doesn't really hold them to keep them clean what could you use instead

my beauty blender just started tearing and getting holes anf i watched that bug video and im scaredan nope. going in the trash. ive only had it for 2 weeks btw. if its not a bug and it just ripped that easily then thats bull cause its not at all cheap

Be careful what your using to clean your beauty blender. I've heard that if you use harsh soaps, it can break down the material and cause the blender to tear.

I use dove soap with mine and I got it in October. It also works with the real techniques sponge.

I do all of this but it still grew mold! I love it so much though, so I wrote to them. I've been washing my brushes and bb with ZOTE soap! It's amazing and gets every stain out.

+Halle Oliver I (Amber, Seth's wife) use the DOVE moisture sensitive beauty bar. Works well and is mild.

Well the top of mine tore off so I should probably get a new one but what I use is shampoo and i work it in the blender then wash it out the best I can and for after, i lay it on top of a wash cloth and leave it sitting in open air so it dries out. I've had no other problems except the top part tearing off.

I am getting the large beauty blender and I am confused on if you can use it after you clean it or let dry and saturate it and use it????

when leaving the mini beauty blender to dry, did you place it betwen the container and the plastic isert or on top of the plastic insert?

The product you recommend to clean the Beauty Blender with, I could only find 1 of them in the UK. That was the Philosophy Purity. A friend did recommend Dr Bronners Pure Castile Soap. I loved your eye makeup, what brand is it and what colours did you use.

I bought mine yesterday and I have just used it once and after using it I washed it, let it dry and everything and the makeup is still in there, I have rubbed it with baby shampoo but I dont wanna do it too hard because there was pink tint in the sink... I've had my beauty blender for 3 months and I used it about twice a week, washed it about once a week, and I always let it air dry fully like you showed in this video. Yet 3 months after buying it, it already has little black spots which I think is mold. I'm going to try to zap it in the microwave and/or use bleach to wash it but I'm pretty pissed. I did everything right and its freaking expensive.

I know this but half the reason they say that is so you'll buy more faster plus not to mention I do not by any means use mine every day...more like once a week. So technically I haven't used it for 3 months.

True, if you use it everyday it would make more sense to get a new one every three months. It could be the area you live in, like you could be living it a very moist/wet area. I dont have a beauty blender, i'm thinking about getting one, but my friend has one. She has had hers for at least 4 months. We live in the desert so its very dry for us. That's just a guess and its probably wrong but its just a thought.

Putting in the microwave is a great idea. Put it in a bowl of water for a couple min and that will kill all the bacteria that causes mold.
