I agree with pressure washing the hog hair brush. All the chemicals are specially formulated and diluted in a mixing tank to give you a beautiful shine. Try not to let your car get really dirty before washing. You don’t want to scratch your clear coat!

For a touch less car wash here are the steps as shown. 1. High Pressure Rinse 2. High Pressure Soap - Leave for 2-3 minutes 3. High Pressure Rinse 4. Splatter Wax - Leave for 1 minute 5. High Pressure Wax 6. High Pressure Rinse 7. Spot Free Rinse This method is similar to Autoglym polar series.

the brush is OK to use so long as you first blast the thing with high pressure water to get any dirt off the brush, and secondly you DONT want to go in circular motions with it on your paint. straight lines front to back is best. this way if there is any residual dirt in the brush and it scratches your paint, the scratch is way less noticeable than a scratch that appears in a circular motion

Thanks for your comments. We couldn't agree more - giving the brush a good clean before use it a MUST! We also recommend the presoak and high pressure soap option is used to soften or remove any dirt and grime stuck on the vehicle's surface. This will also prevent scratches. A clean brush, used in any direction should not scratch the paintwork.

prowashonline that’s incorrect. You will NEVER get all of the dirt out of the brush because people often clean their wheels with it and they drop it on the ground. The brush WILL scratch most of the time.

@@rjsahm5880 Those guys are experts, they made this equipment. This isn't to be rude, but if you had some knowledge in the car wash industry you would know that _good_ foam brushes are made out of a very delicate material. Those that say the material is extremely rough are delusional, unless it's a broom the owner fashioned into a foam brush. Foam is constantly being pumped through the brush for optimal lubrication, similar to bucket washing at home with a microfibre wash mitt and a foam cannon attachment. A good quality, well maintained brush won't scratch the paint. It was designed with that in mind. However, some people treat the brushes like crap by misusing them, cleaning really disgusting parts of their car with them and just throwing them on the ground.

@@rjsahm5880 The brush material won't hold grit and dirt, and it's softer than your paint so it won't scratch it.

Hey just 2 questions for the waxing part do you have to dry up your car first before applying it or doesn't matter? and btw how long do you leave the wax soaked in your car before rinsing it?

Nah the rules that i use that work is 1. Pre soak 2. High pressure soap 3. Wax 4. High pressure rinse 5. Spot free rinse 6. Dry with a microfiber towel to prevent water spots All those steps just go after another quick and easy you don’t have to let anything sit just make sure you get the whole car. Oh and never use the foam brush especially if you have black paint it will almost always leave swirls or scratches but it’s your car you do what you think or feel is right 🤷‍♂️.

Also If the self service has a tire/wheel cleaner be careful to not get any of that on the paint.

It's entirely your choice. Some people prefer to move into the vacuum bay to dry off their car using a microfibre towel, while others who may be time poor may just drive off the site.

The whole purpose for the spot free rinse is so it will dry without spots. It's purified water. The best way is to get the car clean, use the spot free rinse top to bottom, then pull it out into the sun to let it dry. If it spots, their filtration system is bad.

Never use the brush they provide, you will get swirl marks! Bring a leaf blower or micro fiber cloths to dry your car after rinsing. Otherwise you risk getting water spots.
